I had planned on doing a giveaway all year, but I never could decide what to giveaway. I finally decided to use the giveaway as an excuse to get myself a new knife. :D I wanted to pick a knife that I typically would not purchase. At first I had my eye on a couple different Queens, but work had been pretty slow this year. That's when I settled on the humble peanut. It is a knife I have admired from a far for quite some time.
And come on, it's a classic. A knife collection just isn't complete without one.
So today I finally received two brand spankin new Case peanuts in chestnut bone/ cv.

I wanted to wait to receive the knives to make sure I didn't get a lemon before I posted the gaw, but I'm happy to say that each knife is quite nice.
Here is the one up for grabs.

The only flaw(which could be said about both knives), and something you might want to know up front is that the dye job is not the same on both covers. Here is the other side

So that's the prize. I would prefer for this to go to someone who contributes to this forum and doesn't just go from gaw to gaw. I wanted to make this somewhat of a tradition, so since I ended my last gaw on thanksgiving(2015) I will do the same this year. I will try something different this time. I will ship internationally. However, you will need to split shipping with me, and once it leaves my mailbox I am not responsible for any postal screw ups.
Post that you're in, but also include what you do for fun when you are not drooling over/ fondling fancy sharp things. Pictures are always nice too! For example I have really gotten into hiking this year, and I'm starting to make the transition into overnight backpacking. Here's a picture from my last trip which was also my first solo overnight trip

Oh and if you win and find you do not want it please gift it along to someone else.

Wonderful gesture Erik. That's a great shot of the mountains and wish I could get there more often. Not an entry brother.

Very generous of you.
Thank you
I am in.
I am just like you. I love hiking

Wow, that last picture sure shows some beautiful country! No wonder you like hiking so much! What do I do for fun? Well, besides drooling over my next knife purchase, I also enjoy target shooting - both handgun and long gun. I also enjoy renovating my house. My career is such that these two pass times help me clear my head of work and focus on the task at hand - either shooting or building. In the past 4 years, I've built two decks, replaced carpet with hardwood, put in garden doors (btw, removing a wall to put in doors where there never were any before is a little nerve racking), and countless other home reno jobs. I've put countless rounds downrange, and it always puts a grin on my face. I also enjoy photography immensely.

In short I enjoy doing things for myself. I even do the majority of my own car repairs. It's the challenge, perhaps, that gives me enjoyment.

My wife and I also have a great time taking out two dogs out for long runs. Well, the dogs run, we walk.

In the end, this all works out great because my wife likes all the same things (well, may not so much the target shooting but we all have our flaws ;) )

I'd definitely like a chance at one of those peanuts, so I am in.

I'm in and I enjoy cooking for my wife. I do all the cooking in the household including making bread, pasta, etc. and am into all sorts of cuisines such as French, Italian, Oriental, etc. Thanks for the GAW.

Thanks for the GAW Erik. I enjoy my photography for most of my life and since spending time here on the porch my knife photography has evolved. They're great models, they sit for you. For exercise I swim year round both in and outdoors. I just bought a place down south near the water and I've been shell collecting. A great excuse for walking along the beach doing nothing.

Thanks for the opportunity Erik I'm in.
When I'm not playing with my knives I love playing my guitars. I'm partial to Gibson's here's a shot of my Les Paul and my L4-A acoustic.

I'm in! Thanks! I enjoy spending time with my two sons, 11 & 14. We all enjoy flea market browsing, as of late, also.

Nice one Erik, and thanks for not forgetting about us overseas.

I like a good giveaway that also prompts a bit more gettin-to-know other Porch folk. I'm in.

I also enjoy hiking. :) And camping, hunting, cooking and reading too.

Here's some pics from the Surf Coast trail a couple of weekends ago.

And a couple of random earlier pics.

I'll bite! I have also been admiring the peanut from a far. All this year I have been carrying a small knife during the week but I don't have a peanut, which is the classic small knife.

And because I am stuck in the office all week, the outdoors call me every chance I get. Most recent backpacking trip below...

Not an entry, because I already have my own chestnut bone CV peanut, but I just wanted to say what a great giveaway this is. Before I got mine, I'd read about peanuts and thought they'd be too small. But man, does it ever punch above its weight. Not to mention that Case's chestnut bone is beautiful stuff!

I'm in. I really enjoy the outdoors so camping, hunting, biking, and fishing are some of my favorite activities. Really enjoy being outside with my dog, he's my #1 bud.
Still trying to figure out posting pictures.

Very generous GAW and some beautiful pics. Thank you in adavnce for the opportunity. Here are a few from my three day trip in the Appalachians last week.

I'm in and thanks! In my spare time I like to read(books) as much as possible. Fantasy and Sci-Fi, but really anything that catches my fancy.
Thanks, Neal

I have a couple of peanuts already so if I win send it to member cf1969 on BFC, I'm trying to turn him into a slip joint junkie. :) Besides any excuse to share pics of the things I love to do and knives is a win win for me. :)

First off I love to ride, been on motorcycles since I was 8, got my first minibike I was 5. I built it with my Old Man and it was quick. Had a 7 1/2 HP 2 stroke Tecumseh racing motor. I had the fastest minibike in 2 counties, it did 60 mph on smooth flat ground. I figure I've been on two motorized wheels for 51 years know and I can't imagine a life on only four, everyone should experience the clarity and focus a motorcycle ride brings. :)
