Yeah....stop it with the snake pics;):p, get a sticky created and call it "pitdogs snakes" and that way you'll have a train of snake pics.

The scales on that snake are real nice looking! You sure have an eye for those sorts of things!

Nope, not gettin' sick of the snake pics at all. You oughtta know by now that we love all of your pics. And I agree that that one is particularly nice.

Pitdog, that's a great snake photo! You could not have gotten him to pose better if you had bribed him with a mouse. I'll have to show that one to my wife. She's an elementary school teacher, and for years whenever she's caught a little snake she's taken it to school (tied in a sock) and taught her students about it. I guess you could say she's not your average school teacher. :D

She sounds a very cool teacher bro, I wish mine had been like that at school !!!!:thumbup:

Wow, that did turn out pretty good! You sure do have a heck of a lot of those kinds of snakes around you.

OK, since we're doing snake pics, I thought I'd chime in. I like taking closeups, and garter snakes are particularly obliging.

I like on this one how you can see my hand holding the camera reflected in the snake's eye. (picture actually shrunk down a little. Click here for the full image)

Sometimes they get tired of the paparazzi and make funny faces...

I used to keep garter snakes as pets. They're a ton of fun. I had a special aquarium setup for them that was half water and half dry. I'd drop half a dozen feeder goldfish in the water part and they'd go to town fishing them out and gulping them down. I also occasionally caught toads and frogs to feed them. They never showed any interest in mice.

the snakes out Sooke way are pretty easy to photograph too. They're extremely slow and docile, but seem to always have the munchies. Must be something in the air ;}

Maybe us Islanders should all meet up one day for a snake hunting session !!!!
