Here's a 10/10 Malla, 18 inches and pound and a half. Perfect knife, perfect karda and chakma. Perfect scabbard & frog by village sarki with new leather.

Problem: Very minor rust damage. Fifteen minutes with sandpaper will bring this knife back to magic stone mirrow finish.

Wow, Number one again? is everyone else sleeping? I must be on a roll today. If I weren't waiting for one already, I'd grab it. Right after I nabbed the Garud AK.

Is it just me...or is Durba making his k's pointy these days.

Maybe it is just the picture...but this one dosent have the big ole belly some of'em have.:confused:

Dave, I've noticed it too. All of my Durbas are really pointy and don't have a large belly. It looks to me like most of the khuks with rust problems are Durbas? Am I just seeing things?
 
It's that lousy village sarki -- he's using uncured wood in the scabbards. The rust is not Durba's fault -- just his bad luck that he had a bunch of khukuris ready for scabbards.
 
Of the Khuks that speak, the Malla definitely says "WEAPON". The GS says it, too, but with less emphasis, and of the military knives, only the M43 says it with as much authority.
 
Beautifully grained saatisal handle on this one, too. Woodchucks should have it just for the handle.

I've got a Bura made Malla which I have never been able to bring myself to use.

Now I will get a chance to try out one of these bad-boys.
