Yeti Rambler 64 oz?

The Yeti and Hydro Flask claim the stainless steel doesn't absorb any tastes. I filter my water through an Aqua Rain filter, so all other water tastes funny to me! :D

Glass ,stainless steel, and titanium are good for eliminating metallic taste. Any residual flavours can be removed by soaking with a baking soda solution.

Thanks! I didn't consider an acidic cleaning with Vinegar or baking soda for cleaning out the residual flavors.

i have had the 64 since the beginning of April. I like it very much! yeah it was a little bit pricey, but it is an investment and will pay for itself with the amount of money I'll save eliminating the need to buy bottle water or soda. It is a bit heavy, but I really don't mind it. I have a few other yeti products and have not had ANY issues with any of them.

I have one and LOVE it!!!!

I put water in it before I leave the house and it stays cold all day long!!

Well worth the money!

The MiiR will keep will keep hot hot and cold cold as well as the Yeti and also keep beer from getting flat. Same 18/8 medical grade stainless. It's in the cap (and often the price too) that the MiiR truly beats its competition. Look for the swing lock sealing cap akin to German resealable beer bottles.

I have the Hydro Flask 64oz growler. Works great. I either keep hot tea or iced water or iced lemon water. I made a batch of lemon water sat. morning, didn't finish it and left it in until sunday night. It still had ice in it and was cold. Monday morning it didn't have any ice in it but was still ice cold. I'm a believer. And no metallic taste, even after I leave my drinks in it for days. And no rust.

Update. .... I purchased the 45 Degree Latitude 64 oz. growler on the river site. The bottle was packaged well and is top quality. In the package they include 5 extra colored bands for the cap so if you have more than one you know who's is who's. The reviews say to fill 1/4 ice and 3/4 liquid. This was perfect. I had cold water all day in my mail truck. When I filled it up later that day there was enough ice I just pumped in some already cold water and had ice even when I got home! I used some kind of "points" and got the bottle and carry case for about $25! Money well spent! However, even if I had paid full retail (about $30 for the bottle $20 for the carry case) I would be a happy camper! My wife has asked about getting a couple more.

Got the Yeti 36oz. And a Maxpedition 12x5 bottle holder.,, will use this summer on the ATV when away from the truck awhile in the Texas heat!,, hope it works out? Pricey but I'm tired of hot drinks after a couple of hours !kept ice for 14 hours,,, haven't got to carry it all day but will soon.

All I can say is that I have a 20 oz Yeti and planning on getting a 32 oz. I have never been able to keep up with a cup before but I do this one. Never had one that would keep coffee hot for so long. After 7 hours it would still be warm enough to drink.

Yup U812 , I have put coffee in my 20 oz. at 7:00am and forgot to drink 1/2 of it,,, come noon back in truck and still nice and warm enough to drink!,, that sold me! ( hate cold coffee !)

I can fill my Stanley thermos before leaving the house in the morning and drink such coffee from it on the way home after work.

Saw your thread and post about this alternative to hydroflask bottles and ended up ordering the 40oz one. To my dismay the threads at the top of the lid where you drink from is already forming rust stains. Is your opening starting to show any rust? Kinda disappointed since I only used it for a couple of hours and it formed. Emailed customer service to see what they can do.

Yes, mine was like that the first day I used it. The lady I spoke with at 45 degrees said they had a bad batch with this problem. After the first day - I have used it every day since with no further issues. However, they did replace my bottle and the replacement bottle is PERFECT.

Which of these double wall vacuum insulated bottles do not taste metallic after water has been in them a long time? Do these work with brewed tea? Do they retain flavors?

I have tried several "metal" drinkware options for hot tea and they all tasted terrible with hot tea. Many of them also have a strong metallic taste if water has been left in them for a few hours. Then there are my Snow Peak brand bottle which are super nice but, everything tastes like coffee in them.

Finally, do any of these have standard Nalgene or other popular thread sizes? I can always go with one of the big names and the big price tag but, these cheaper alternatives seem to be just as good for a lot less money.

Zojirushi vacuum bottles have an inside coating. I don't drink tea but they don't seem to have that metallic taste. I also use those the Lifefactory glass bottles, they're not insulated but have a silicone sleeve for some degree of break resistance. I prefer my water to taste like water.
