Yojimbo 2 Carbon fiber and 20cv

Anyone know if this will indeed have a slick carbon fiber handle? If it is textured I am definitely in, if slick definitely out.

Thought this was going to be a KnifeCenter exclusive. Guess not

JB Outman is the distributor, but it will be sold on the likes of BHQ and Knifecenter, maybe others.

Can anyone confirm whether the scales on this will be completely smooth or have texturing?

The scales on this one are smooth.

Peel ply materials are textured and have a protective top layer that is applied when the material is manufactured. After the scale is machined the top layer is "peeled" to reveal the texture. Textured G-10 is done this way (though it's rarely advertised as peel ply because it's so common), as is carbon fiber and carbon-fiber/G-10 laminate.

Stay safe,

Mike

Thank you for clarifying this Mr. Janich. The Yo 2 is an exceptional blade; I hope we see some more variations of it in the future!

That’s exactly what I was hoping for. I’ve got a couple spydies in smooth g10 and really really like it.

Any word on when they’ll drop?

20cv is a nice variation but smooth scales on a dedicated SD knife??

Also, going to state yet again that they should offer the normal S30V model with a DLC blade, it would look awesome (and very scary!)

My opinion contrasts with yours a bit.

As a civilian walking 15 blocks home in downtown San Diego, my interest is definitely in a blade that reflects light not in a knife that is barely noticeable unless used. That being said I love the aesthetics of Spyderco's DLC, just want to share my personal opinion on its role in genuine civilian self defense. Ideally it doesn't even get used!
ETA: grammar

I have a previous CF S90v and the carbon is textured. Best SD knife out there hands down. wicked cutter

Yeah, I love the textured CF on the S90V model. If the 20CV model had the same it would be a must have for me.
