Yojimbo 2 (New purchase 10/17/2014) returned to Spyderco on 11/3/14

The yojimbo is my favorite production spydie. I have two and both came with actions tha weren't up to my standards. After a lot of trial and error, I've managed to figure out how to tweak the comp locks to make them work correctly. Now both of mine operate perfectly

Interesting, please post how you tweaked the comp locks to make them work correctly. While I understand that everyone's standards are different, I am interested in your tweaks.

This may not work for everyone but I did the trick on a few of my comp lock knives. I first took the clip off, then loosened all the pivot and body screws. I snuck some nano oil into the pivot while the knife was loose. Then tighten the pivot screws first and get them as tight so there's no blade play (loctite screws) then I adjust the stop pin screws to the the knife action the way I want so that it free falls etc (loctite). Then just tighten up the rest of the body screws and put the clip back on. It's a lot of little tweaks but you should get there eventually 👍

Thanks for the info ridethepony14. I may need to buy some Nano oil. I currently use Frog Lube on all of my guns and knives. I use to use MPro 7 on everything, but have switched to Frog. I will research Nano oil some and see if it is worth getting for my knives.

I must agree with this statement. The trademark Spyder hole is just not in the correct spot, hidden a little bit by the scales.

Carl

I agree with you that the spydee hole is hidden by the scales, makes thumb flick difficult on the Yo2. But for middle finger flick, it just plain works for me. The "Whack" and lock up is fast and tight. All I can say is "WOW". Awsome knife. I am glad that I purchased it and even happier that it is working flawlessly now.
