Awesome pics! And that is one cool gift she gave you  It's hard to find more beautiful scenery than Yosemite

Im wanting to go so bad. The next trip out west I plan on going to Yosemite, the Grand Canyon and Carlsbad.

You've got some neat pix there. It's a real shame the latest forum upgrade is set up not to allow you to display pix in the way you intended. It's only a little thing to correct and this looks so much better. I'm rather surprised the photography chaps in the photography sub-forum haven't had a whinge.

Not sure what you mean? It appears the same as it used to.

Forums usually have some cap as to the size an image will display regardless of the size of the image that is posted. It's not that they are physically resized just the display of them. Harks back to the dark ages when we all had crappy little monitors and shoddy graphics cards. Some bright spark would post up an image of say 3000 pixels wide and it would drag the thread out of shape with any text needing a left to right scroll. So it is a preventative measure cap.

I don't know what the cap used to be here before the software upgrade but people could happily post an image 1000 wide for sure, and I think I may have even done a couple of 1200 here. After the forum upgrade that changed and the image size that is allowed to be displayed has a measly width 800 cap as a default. Your image that I re-linked to [without changing the host] displays as you posted it @ 1023*678. I've excluded the bottleneck which is the software settings here. In your post that same image only displays at 800 wide even though what you posted is bigger. That cap at 800 is needlessly miserly. Your pics are nice and would all look better if they displayed at the 1023*678 you posted them at.

Great pics! Looks like you had a lot of fun. One of these days I need to make my way to Yosemite.

100% baldtaco. I had to crop some pictures so they would show up better, in my post today. Before the upgrade , I used to size them at 1024 x 768 and they showed up very nicely.

Christian, fantastic pictures. You lucky bastid! :D

I was in Yosemite last week and had a great time. It was overcast most of the time I was there but i was still able to pull off some amazing photos. We stayed in a cabin in Curry Village and despite the crappy weather it was still awesome.

The pic is on my girlfriend's camera still, but we saw the biggest coyote I think I have ever seen. Sucker was huge.

Awesome pics, looks like a great time. I'll be up there for a week in July so if you have any specific suggestions I'm all ears.

It probably will be a madhouse in Yosemite Valley in July, everyone and their brother goes to Yosemite in the summer it seems. Personally I would try to avoid it during the busy season, but if you have a camping spot you have to take what you can get. If it is your first trip, see everything you possibly can!! If you have not seen them before go see the big trees, you will not be disappointed. All of the falls are beautiful, Hetch Hetchy is nice, the Southern part of the park is very nice but I couldn't get to it this trip.
