Hey ya'll, just got in last night. It was my 2 year old girl's first camping trip, she had fun but there were definitely a few rough patches haha (she's a bit of a 'diva'). Hope you guys enjoy the pics. Sorry only a few of them are Becker content, I mostly just used my 14 for kitchen duty and my 9 stayed in my pack as there's not a lot of chopping to do when car camping in Yosemite (it was nice to know I had it though).

My daughter running around the tent right after we set it up:

Using my 14 to make some shavings to get the fire started easier:

First night's supper, cracked black pepper rubbed tri tip and garlic mashed potatoes:

Not exactly 'loving' her carrier at first:

Here's a close up of how I wore my Becker through my whole trip. Never had a problem with it in comfort or use, thanks again Godspeed!:

Thanks for looking.

Looks like fun, memorable times for sure. Did your "Diva" end up liking the hiking ride?
Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic pics of a beautiful place! Looks like the whole family had fun

Some beautiful scenery.
Looks like a good time.
Can't wait to get out and do some camping with my little girl. She's two also, so I can totally relate to the whole "diva" thing. lol
Thanks for sharing!

What's funny is that she ended up settling into it okay on my back, but when the misses tried to carry her on her back she said 'No mommy! Daddy's back!' haha. I think I felt more stable to her or something.

OUTSTANDING!! Great pics man, looks like you all had a great time! The wee one looked like she had a blast! I am officially jealous!

Well, being a guy, your bone structure makes you look more stable. (Ok, done being a smart @$$)

Looks like you had fun, even if you were car camping. :D

Very nice pics and you've got a cute kiddo.... my daughters melt my heart so it's cool seeing the pics of the two of ya. Yosemite is beautiful and it looks like you guys had a great time.

The sheath setup looks good too:D I like the cross-draw setup and it's always nice to see one of my sheaths "In The Wild!" looks like it's serving you well.

Thanks for sharing the pics,

Eli

Awesome photos man, I wold love to see that place some day. Looks like you had a blast with the family and that makes it that much better. Thanks for taking us along!

Good stuff man, how was the weather for you guys .... Looked like a great time!!!

The weather was beautiful. It was around the 70's in the day and around mid 30's to low 40's at night/morning. It was a bit of a challenge keeping my daughter warm in the night/mornings but nothing she couldn't handle. Peftect hiking weather in the day time though! Not too hot! That's why I prefer camping in the Spring over the Summer.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Anyone with kids knows it's nice to get rid of the distractions (bills, job, etc) and just enjoy their company for a few days.

Thanks for sharing the pics! Yosemite looks like a beautiful place to visit.

You've got a lot of great photos to share with your daughter of the trip, too. I love looking back at some of the trips we took as kids, even if I don't remember the trips.

Damn Rouge, looks like a hell of a time was had by all...beautiful scenery and beautiful daughter...my four year old diva loves to camp as well as my 12 year old daughter and wife, the diva isn't all about the hiking though, she's in it for the smores....hope this is the first of many for your family...

That looked like a lot of fun! Was that high altitude hike Half-Dome? If it was, was it hard to carry your girl along?

We only hiked near Half Dome not actually up it's trail or anything. Our longest hike (which most of the hiking pics are from) was along some of the John Muir trail and down the Vernal Falls trail. But yes, it was a lot of climbing! On that hike, our longest, we were out for 7 hours and the first 3 1/2 of it was all ascending! It did get very hard to carry her up the trail but in the end it was worth it. I will say though, when I woke up the next day, not only were my calves and hamstrings killing me but my shoulders as well! We took it really easy the next day.
