SOLD - SOLD - SOLD

For sale is a Yoshihara Kogatana originally purchased from Yoshindo Yoshihara by Bob Lum at the 2006 Solvang Knife Show. The kogatana's provenance is documented in a formal letter from Jean Lum to me that came with the kogatana. The lengthy letter of provenance from Jean Lum and the picture of Mr Yoshihara, holding the kogatana, naturally will come with the kogatana.

For anyone who doesn't know who Mr Yoshihara is, he is a 10th generation Japanese swordsmith worthy of this quote:

"Yoshindo Yoshihara is probably the most popular sword craftsman in the world today. With over 300 swords crafted in sheer splendor and beauty, he was recognized by the Tokyo government in 2005 as an intangible Living Cultural Treasure, a treasure to the Japanese nation".

According to Jean Lum, Bob Lum's wife, "to own one of his knives and to have it personally inscribed by Mr Yoshihara himself, was the ultimate knife in his small collection of other makers knives". Comes in silk slipcase with small accessory zipper case containing small brass hammer which, I believe, has something to do with removing the blade/tang from the handle/remounting it (which I have not done).

Overall length in sheath 9 5/8", overall length unsheathed 9", blade length (tip to handle) 5 3/4".

XXXX plus shipping (US/Canada). Cashier's check or money order (US/Canadian buyers). Paypal is acceptable if net amount of XXXX, plus xxx shipping, is received (US/Canadian buyers). Non-US/Canadian buyers OK, but immediate payment via Western Union is required with shipping charge of XXXX.

First to post "I'll take it" and follow up with an email to XXXXXXXXXXXXX saying "I'll take it" gets it. No price drops on this one.
