As some of you old hogs know, in 1994 I saw the doctor to have some jaw and chest tightness checked out, and five days later was having five bypasses. Became a diet and exercise fanatic, walking then running then weights, lost 65pounds. (I used to be a big boy!)

A couple of years after the surgery, the doc did a follow-up stress test and said he was "stunned", that I had the test of a man who had never had any heart problems at all.
Two years ago had a followup arteriogram and per doc it "could not possibly look any better"

Well, I had a stress test last week, and doc says I have "significant reduction" in blood flow to the back side of my heart since last test. Arteriogram and, hopefully, just stents next Tuesday. You all know what this means...

Redoubling of exercise and tightening up on the eating again! By Atlanta trough time I should be a lean, mean, trampling machine!

Progunner, if anything untoward happens, my family has instructions on your first call for the Bowie, but don't let this make you go pray a-gin' me.:D

I hope all goes well Mike!
Will have you in my thoughts and prayers.

Like you said, you'll be in such good shape by next Blade we won't have a chance....heck, I just stayed near you this year and it was impossible to beat you with that reach you have. Never had to worry about someone rooting you out of the way though(Mike is 6'8" folks), thats one reason I stayed close.

Mike,
Hope all goes well at the doctors. We'll be pulling for ya.

On the other hand you leaner, meaner, and faster at the trough in addition to Kim running interference for you. Definitely an unfair advantage. :p

Best Wishes at the doctors and Merry Christmas,

Nick

Dear Santa, I want an XXXL NICK, Some Busse Grips for my 1911, one of the AMY-O Chef's knives......Signed Nick.....P.S. I have been very good this year.

Best wishes Mike. Keep up the positive attitude. Try "Eat To Live" by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. It is advertised as a weight loss book but contains more on the eat to live idea. Gotta keep the pipes clean. Stick with the proper exercise also.

Good luck, Mike. If you're leaner, then there is more room beside you at the trough! (Only person there that I can't see over their shoulder!!) ;)

Take care and eat right, buddy!

Mike, I hope all goes well.

The stress test is not 100% accurate though, so maybe they'll get in there and find out that all is well. I had a stress test last year that indicated reduction in blood flow, and so I had a coronary angiogram. Turns out that all was okay and that I had a "false positive" on the stress test. I hope the same happens for you. If they have to do a stint, you'll be out of there same day, more than likely.

Best of luck buddy.

Mike--Hang in there and be well! Sending you best wishes from frosty northern AZ!! :D

I'm hoping for the best for you. Always inspirational to hear of someone rising to the occasion and beating an illness, you should be very proud of your hard work so far. Hope to meet you at Blade this year. I grew up near Birmingham, so us Bama boys will stick together at the trough!

We will see you at Blade Mike! You'll be through this easy. Your a HOG for Chist's sake!!

Mike, prayers are with you. My father in law is facing similar issues.
What exactly happened, I mean how the sudden change. Did you stop your regiment of diet/fitness? I'm trying to find a way to get him back on track, however he is extremely stubborn. Example: told to take pain killers for his chronic Rheumatoid (?) arthritis. Did not do it, and all of a sudden all he can do is lay in bed. During Thanksgiving I told him, you can lay in bed all day or take the pain meds. Started taking the meds, and what do ya know...daily life continues. Stopped again, the severe pain and I'm sure depression put a lot of stress on his heart, and then its off to the ER. Has to have more tests, but they are talking about bypasses and open heart surgery. Took his pain meds Thurs, out working in the yard Friday. Anyway I'm just curious about the turn around with your condition.. I hope i'm not being intrusive.
