You can feel it in your bones.

There are hundreds of millions of people in the USA. I hope like hell that most of them stay out of the woods.

It's also easy to simplify people into outdoor people and city people. But it's also inaccurate. Humans are very adaptable. Anyone with the intelligence, motivation, and social skills to survive in the modern urban environment probably wouldn't have trouble living in more primitive times. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to grow vegetables or throw rocks at small game.

Best Wishes,

Bizarre. The real question is what exactly motivates a given person to preach to a basically unwilling audience in this fashion, with no positive feedback.

As soon as anyone uses the word 'Fool' in a post on any forum its time to find the ignore button.

Say what you will, but you'll have a greater chance of surviving a week in any jungle than a week on the streets of east LA or Detroit.

If you think guys and gals in the city are weak of body and spirit, then you don't know the ones I know.
For some folks, everyday is like "Lord of The Flies" only with steel and concrete.

Allen.

BEER!!!! That's the answer. What's the question??? :D P.S. Last time I tried to be creative and wild in the woods the girl took my car keys and I had to hoof it home. Sigh!

I'd die right quick if left in the wilderness or in the inner city slums. That's why I stay in the nice parts of NYC and stick to the suburbs when I travel.

(Soft, spoiled, totally not self sufficient but doin' fine...until the big one hits...shudder...can't think about that...gonna go to my happy place now)

I gotta say, I'm feeling a little bit of what this guy's saying. I've got to get out to the woods real soon. It's a bit of a difficult read, but I think there's some wisdom in there. You just have to dig a little bit. Maybe the fluorescent lights are just getting to me. Or maybe the half-empty bottle of Smirnoff sitting in front of me has something to do with it. You know what the problem is? You guys need to drink some more! In the woods! :D

I go to school in Long Beach every day, not the good part, the bad part... ie like PCH and Orange. I survive; does that mean I'll last forever in the jungle?

Maybe this will help....

All of it is very nice, but has nothing to do with topic...
[bad citified guys calls for mods]

The biggest danger is the fluoridation of our drinking water, which is sapping our creative bodily juices and destroying our purity of essence.

Go out in the world and do not go with an attitude of fighting or that is all you will find.

Don't know about the rest, but he/she got this part right at least.

I do think you are onto something but i dont think that being in the wilderness for very long is going to build youir character or essence. Character comes from life experience not depriving yourself of things that are already available to you. Humanity changes over time and God has given us the gift to adapt as some of the other forum members have said. And one quick question if your so deeply into nature and anti-modern why the hell are you on this forum? I hope this has *deeper voice* "UN-CLOUDED YOUR OPINIONATED EEEYES" Thank you. :D
