You carry more than one, what are their specific purposes?

Another thread about work carry got me thinking about all of the "What have we got in our pocketses" threads I've seen with the amazing pocket collections some members here carry. But I rarely see people post what they use the individual blades for.

So sound off! What is the purpose of the blades in your pocketses? I can imagine just wanting to carry your nice knives around, I do that especially when I get a new knife. And I keep a little SAK at work for menial stuff that I don't want to whip the big blade out to handle. I also carry a little slip-joint with me when I know I'll be whittlin', as well as the bigger blade.

What about you?

I'll bite!

My small benza does most of the real cutting.

I have a Cybertool 29 and 90% of it's use is for the screwdrivers (esp. teh torx drivers). In fact, most of the tools have never been used.

My Pulse is used moft for it's scissors, file, and pliers. The screwdrivers get used occasionally.

Large Sebenza for 90% of my cutting needs

Leatherman Wave for screwdrivers, pliers, etc. IF I loan a knife to a co-worker, this is the one, also use the serrated sheepsfoot blade for cutting seatbelts, etc.

TOPS Scalpel generally rides in my boot, just for a knife that very few people know about, If I need a knife to SERIOUSLY abuse, I will let this one take the task instead of my beloved Sebenza. (I'm not afraid to use my Sebenza to it's fullest potential, but I can't see risking a $300+ dollar knife when I have a perfectly capable $40 knife at hand)

Seems like I may be pretty close (if not beyond) overkill with my set-up, but it does tend to get the job done. The TOPS will probably start staying at home more often once the novelty of it wears off. (It's fairly new)

I tend to alternate my daily carry knives, so the pretty much vary, but I always carry a back up, just in case. I use them all for various tasks from opening envelopes, boxes, food, rope, to the simple removal of loose string on my clothing.

A Tom Mayo TNT gets the nod for all cutting chores: cardboard boxes, opening mail, salami and cheese, hockey tape, and whatever else that even vaguely look like it needs cutting.

A SAK gets used as a bottle opener, screwdriver, corkscrew, toothpick, or tweezers.

Hey that extra knife to lend a coworker instead of your prize EDC makes a lot of sense.

I carry a SOG Switchplier that I forgot to mention. I forget that thing has a blade. Guess that's my lending knife right there!

I carry my blue inlay Native for light cutting, basic utility around the office.

I carry my 710hs for much heavier cutting, since I don't want to damage the pearl inlay on my serial numbered Native, and I use the 710hs for food because the teflon coated blade is very easy to clean off.

I carry my G-10 Harpy because it excels at cutting string, wire, rope, & electrical work, because it is very good for tip work, and because I think it's a good idea to carry at least one knife that costs less than $100.

I carry my D.R. Good custom damascus finger bone friction folder because I like having a work of art in my pocket.

I carry my 350bt because it's so slim and light there's just no reason not to carry it, no matter what else I'm carrying. And it stays in my boot which makes it the only knife easily accessible when I'm seat belted in a car.

I carry my Leatherman Supertool for the dozen tools on it that are not a knife, the blades are its least usefull feature.

I carry a tiny SAK on my keychain, but a 1" nonlocking blade attached to keys is very inconvenient to use. I use the tweezers and LED on it more than anything else.

I carry my D2 Sifu for cutting down trees, bears, and other horribly large objects, and because it's the only knife I carry that will reach the bottom of the peanut butter jar.

I also carry at least 2 pens, 2 packs of cigarettes, 2 lighters, 2 pads of paper, & 2 flashlights with me, so my carrying multiple knives isn't really that odd.

Do I need that many knives? Not necessarrily, but what I carry is not limited by what I need; what I carry is limited by state/local laws, my budget, and the number of pockets in what I'm wearing.

I can appreciate that, and will hopefully have a work of art of my own to carry someday!

A Boker Gamma does most of the small chores where cutting is primary (no prying or torqueing).

A Leatherman Micra is used for scissors and tools.

The Spydercard is there in case there's something the other two can't handle...so far I've never needed to depend on it, but it's there if I need it...

I carry one for defense - (sifu)
one for cutting - (cold steel voyager or pioneer II)
and a leatherman micra for all the useful tools.

V-nox Pocket Pal for "public" use, whittling, loose threads, etc....
SpyderCard in my wallet just so I always have a blade with me.
Small Sebenza as my main EDC. I've fallen in love with this one. No one else uses it but ME, it's MINE, get your own!!!

I usually carry a fairly large knife (currently my custom LCC) with a 3" or so blade for heavy duty cutting. I carry a couple of tiny SAKs and Leatherman Micra for all the nofty tools that really come in handy a regular basis. I also carry Spyderco Ladybugs for a lot of light cutting and just fiddling around with when I'm bored. My Spyderco Mouse is a good sheeple friendly cutter that is also very sturdy. I also often carry a nice gents folder just because its nice to look at.

I carry one of the stockmans my grandfather gave me just for the memories.
I carry a JSP credit card blade with money clip just in case I am ever tied to a chair by terrorists.
I wear a small wharncliffe fixed blade (about 6.5" overall) for utility. I will soon be replacing it with This.

Large Sebenza or LCC for any real cutting I might encounter, Denning Model C for food duty and letter opener, UDT 2000 to impress the ladies (my daughters love to see that little blade snap open

)!

I carry a variety of knives, but usually only two at a time, though sometimes I'll carry three.

At work, a Darrel Ralph EDC does 99% of the cutting.
Also carry either a BM Nimravus, 710HS, or a CRKT M16-02Z for "beaters" since I sometimes do stuff that a knife isn't made for-but happens to be handy. No prying or cutting wire or steel radial belts with the custom. Also carry a Leatherman at work.

Away from work, it's either the CF EDC or Apogee (sometimes both), accompanied by one of my other favorites that I just don't like having sit in a drawer-Spyderco Dragonfly, blue BM 940, small Sebenza, Camillus Talon.
Also carry a SAK, mainly for the screwdriver/bottle opener and the tweezers.

I could live with just the EDC (or Apogee, small Seb, 710HS) and the Leatherman, but what fun would that be?

Although it has changed through the years, I currently carry a Buck 303 medium stockman for about everything small (sharpening pencils, cutting news articles or comics, ect) and a Spyderco Rescue for everything else.
At work I only carry the Rescue (clipped to the inside of the surgery scrubs).
Starting next weekend I'm going to carry my new Spyderco Calypso Jr. at work.

My "always" carry is an old blue Cub Scout knife attached to my key chain. This is very PC and non threatening if I have to cut something publicly. The Common Law regarding knife carry seems to be that 3 inch or smaller folders are legal anywhere. This isn't nec' true but it's the general understanding. With that in mind I normaly carry a small Sebenza (right front pocket) and a mini So-Com (left front). The So-Com has a double sided thumb stud and is easier to use with my left hand. The two combined provides me with a slight sense of security.

Well its summer dress carry for me now, so...

CQD DD is used for general duties
Blue Delica or Camillus 154 EDC for jobs that seeple might see me do.
SAK Edventurer for bottles, screwdriving etc
Leatherman Micra for scissors

Otherwise I would also carry a Military, but that rides in coat.

I usually only carry one knife and it does all of my cutting tasks. It used to be a MT LCC M/A but yesterday I got my new Sebenza and I am going to use that for everthing now.
