Contacted John about making a Spear Head blade that I can use as a secondary knife as well as attaching to my hiking staff.
It turned out great and on its way to Al Welke in AZ in be attached to my knife sheath.
Wanted to share some pics.
Thanks for looking
Danny

Hi Danny -

That was a cool idea - and that would be a great spear!

John did a great job with the grind too - it looks perfect.

Thanks for the pictures -

best

That is pretty darned cool. Thanks for sharing.

That is such a cool idea Danny.
I use an old bamboo ski pole for my hiking stick & it has a pointy aluminum tip.
I always figured if charged by a critter it would be better than nothing.
Your spear tip looks like it could take down a grizz.
What kind of staff is ya got there?

It's a crawford survival staff.
Got the idea from Dave Canterburys spear point attachment.
I wanted John to make one to go along with my fixed blade from him and the one he made fits much better on the sheath.
Plus lately I'm only using JK Knives!!!!!

That is very cool. I'd feel comfy walking down the trail with that ;).

If you got a JK you don't need anything else.

The staff came with an attachment piece.
I sent that to John. It screws onto the spear point
on one end and the other screws into the staff end.
There r much better pics in JKs thread: Almost ready to ship.
Look on page 2 or 3 to c a clear pic of attachment.

So was the attachment piece made originally for a rubber stopper or some sort of bumper for the contact end for walking, or does it attach on top? I like the versatility :).

It's a piece that is offered through Crawford knives.
They also make knife attachments that screw on to it that u can purchase for
the Crawford survival staff.

That's a very cool idea. Looks good, as usual John.

Thanks for sharing, Daniel.

I was wondering what it looked like from seeing it on the orders list. I've been mulling over the same general idea of a small knife that can attach to a staff. I like your design a lot but it's a no go for me on the double edge. Gonna have to come up with my own design instead of stealing yours I guess. :D
