You ever get into a knifemaking funk?

I think it helps to have someone who doensn't know how to make knives over to the shop to make a knife.

They're amazed at things I can do that I really take for granted or worse, grumble to myself how I should either be better at it or buy a better tool to get it done, etc.

Makes me realize how far I've come and how fun it can really be, even doing a simple little knife.

When I get in a mood like that, I try to make a knife that I been wanting to do, just to make it because I want to and keep it for myself. I am going to do one of those in a couple of weeks, while on vacation. It will be a sentimental piece, and will be for my Wife. Made from a saw blade that my wifes Grandpa had and the handle will be from a piece of oak lumber off of an old shed that he built on his farm. It won't really be a good user, but will have sentimental value for my Wife. Maybe that will get me out of my slump. Will try to post pics when it is done.

LOL I clean my shop before and after I use it... well 90% of the time. It's the way I was taught, what I practice and what I teach.

I dunno, I may forge some ninja throwing stars or something..... nah probably a cartouche knife I got ideas on.

Hell actually just admitting I was in a funk seemed to have helped.

Will, you are just bored to death. Why dont you make something big and very challenging. Time to stretch your skills.
