Just got back from shooting some hand guns, instantly fell in love with a Glock 27.
I'm just curious what is your favorite gun of choice in the .40 cal variant and why???

And as always....pics are nice :D :cool:

That 40 caliber would be a .45 ACP like these;

or a couple of .45LC like these;

all good tools are fine.

My current EDC is a .40 XD sub compact.

I carried a G27 for a number of years in an ankle holster, and beat that poor gun to death. I had a bad habit of catching the 27 on things as I passed by them.

I had to retire it when one of the slide rails decided to detach itself from the polymer frame, after I hit it on a concrete post as I passed by.

my G27 was not considerably easier to conceal (IWB)than my G23, and recoil considerably worse so don't have it any more (I don't have a love affair with multiple recoil springs)....my G23 has Trijicon night sights, and fits my idea for an upgraded Commander... and at the time of its purchase was my "ideal" carry gun (I carry off body in a shoulder bag).... my G35 is only marginally longer than a 1911 so works in a good IWB holster and the off body bag...the G35 is much more "shootable" with after market sights...with good metal tritium night sights, would be my choice for only one .40cal pistol

I shoot a G34 in competition as I can shoot it a whole lot faster :D

What a coincidence! My favorite .40 also happens to be a .45ACP.

Springfield XDM 4" is what I carry, but most of my friends prefer the G27. Can't go wrong with either IMO.

Agree with my Gen3 G20 and G29, if i'm going to have something that snaps like a .40s&w might as well go big 10

I have an XD-40 Service which I do like, but my go-to is the 1911 in one variation or another...

Been carrying a G27 Gen4 for about a year now with over 1800 rounds through it and zero failures. Before that I carried a Walther P99 that was equally as flawless albeit a bit larger.

Not really a .40 guy anymore. I carry a Glock 19 and it would be a toss up between a G23 and a S&W M&P Compact - I've fired both and they are almost the same (the S&W is a little more comfortable).

i have no interest in the .40 whatsoever. 9mm is cheaper, modern bullets have closed the performance gap, and the capacity in the same size gun is always higher.

Well, we issue the Glock 23 so that's what I carry. For about 15 years now; same gun. I could not ask for a better combat weapon as I've frequently said.
Simple, reliable, potent. Pull and shoot... Nothing much to bother with.

Mind, if I was still doing recreational shooting, I would likely want something else; the Glock is....Unlovely. Also, it's not the most precise pistol I've ever fired. I have fond memories of my 5" barreled Smith & Wesson M27.... 2" groups at 50 yards.
(off a rest)

My gun of choice would without a doubt be my glock 19. 9mm is all the power I need in a handgun, (I dont plan on shooting threw glass if I do need to fire it in a defensive situtation so why have extra kick with a .40 that is not needed.) 9mm is the 2nd best man stopping bullet right behind a .357 magnum (same bullet magnum just going alot faster), not to mention a glock works every single time its fired. This one is a no brainer for me. I can load my 19 out with remington 124 golden sabers and imo have the best defensive handgun in the world.
