  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

"You got your knife on ya?"

Had a neighbor come over to help me with some electrical wiring in my shop...needed to strip some wire and said..."got a knife?"....then followed immediately with "Duh....what am I thinking?"

I handed him my BM Skirmish which was, shamefully, not as sharp as it should have been...:o

I actually get that those two comments a lot...it will never cease to amuse. :D :p

He is my boss so I can't tell him to go f&$k himself. I bought him a nice CRKT folder with a kydex neck sheath so he could hang it in the truck and know where it is. He never uses it! He uses my Para and now I have to sharpen it a lot more than I would really like. S30V is no fun to sharpen.

Leave your knife home one day (or just tell him you don't have it) and see what happens when he expects you to hand it to him. Do this enough times and he will eventually get it. Or, you could just ask him who wipes his a$$ for him.

I hate it when people ask to borrow my knife. Most often I lie and say that I don't have it with me. But, there are times that I ask the would be borrower to give me the replacement cost of the knife to hold while he uses or abuses my knife. My mean side sometimes surfaces and I allow folks to use a super sharp blade just to see what will happen. :grumpy:

I was at a Seminar on Sat. and one of my friends waloks up to me, and says: "Do you have a knife on ya?", and I said, "Of course I do.", she siad, I figured that! And for me, it all depends on WHOM is doing the asking!! And of course what they want it for.

It does make you feel good when you turn someone into a convert though.
That it does.
I recently gave a knife to a friend, since I had two of the same. He works in construction, and found it very useful (Case hawkbill pruner). Soon after, next time he came to my house, I showed him my Emerson CQC-10. He was completely enamored with it, and bought one online within 10 minutes.
I saw him downtown a couple days later, when his band played at a bar in the city, and I was pleased to note that he had his pocketknife on him. He also mentioned that he was still psyched about the imminent arrival of his Emerson.
Another friend of mine came on a camping trip with me last summer. In preparation, I gave him an old Schrade Uncle Henry lockback (Buck 110 clone), and told him to get used to carrying it. He brought it camping, and found it useful; subsequently, he continued to carry it, even though it was too heavy and bulky for his taste. So, I gave him a Kershaw Leek that I didn't use very much, and he loved it. He soon snapped off the tip, learning a lesson about how to treat a knife, but he then bought another (and carries it every day).
:D

I too recently, within the last month and a half, gave 2 knives to a friend. And she hasn't been without them since!! I love it!!

Hmm once this chick was working hard on trying to open a package of Wasabi peas..
In the middle of the street, my friend takes out a CRKT Viele, offers it to her. She opens it (properly) gave it back with a thank you and no problems.
