It is a hi-Al 3100 F grade castable. When it is dry it is hard as a rock, not those crumbly ones I have used before. It was a bit pricey but well worth it. Brand is Hycast 85, bought from here: http://www.kiltas.com/eng/prddetail.php?urun_id=16

That stuff looks interesting. Is it ready to go full bore right after drying/curing or does it need to be calcined? is it light?

I have a couple of forges curing right now, of my own castable refractory mix but it is heavy, the small one is probably 60# and the big one is 100+ #.

The ones I use needs a 2 days of water treatment (what is the right term I dont know). This particular castable was about 45$ for a 25kg bag...

Keep it damp by sprinkling water on it for two days.
