After almost a year of being a member on here and pretty much spending all my time over here in traditionals and hearing GEC this and GEC that, I've finally pulled the trigger on one. A Tidioute single bladed weavers jack in black bone with an easy open from our fellow member over at Collector Knives (would love to see some pics if y'all got em'). I have been a Case fan for a long time and that pretty much has been about all I've accumulated over the years. But now, after hearing almost a year of ranting and raving about these GEC's I have got to have one. So anyway, thanks guys, I'm sure when it arrives I will love it and hopefully be able to contain myself and my wallet.

Hey thanks man, I'm pretty excited about it. What really excites me about this blade is the sheepsfoot/hawkbill hybrid thing it has going on.

Congrats!! I too am hearing the "Siren's Song" of GEC.....I'm tied to the economic mast right now but as soon as I have the resources, I'm getting one!

I'm ordering a boys knife tomorrow myself, CJZ pushed me over the edge haha. :)

Lol, after I received my own Boy's knife I knew that you'd like it. It really is a great little knife.

I'm primarily a Case fan but I've picked up a few GECs along the way. Beautiful knives, well executed. I dislike the concept of "safe queens" but I find that I get plenty of good, solid use out of my Case, Buck, and Victorinox knives that so far I've left the GECs on the shelf in their little tubes.

Kinda like buying a good bottle of bourbon but then only drinking the cheap stuff cause you don't want to waste the expensive whiskey by drinking it.

Thanks fellas. Think I have just hit the tip of the iceberg and I don't even have it in hand yet. I'm in trouble.

Hehe, yes you're gonna love it. Outstanding quality. I don't even look at anything else now that I've owned and carried GEC folders. Absolutely first class...
Absolutely! I have a vintage Case red bone, CV, Daddy Barlow, the only one I own but the older examples in decent condition are now quite expensive. The vast majority of new Case knives are available only in Tru-Sharp, meh, Ill stick with Rough Rider. Why bother with Case, when for the price of a decent bottle of wine more, you can get near perfection in a GEC.
Always on the lookout for old Schrade Waldens though.

My first GEC was the Weaver Jack, rust red micarta scales, in some ways still my favorite even when I'm carrying a Charlow or Diamond Jack.

And don't forget the Farm & Field knife! There's always one of those in my tool box.

You guys all seem ok to me:eek:, but I'm still blaming y'all for working your traditional voodoo magic on me through the interwebs and making me push the button.

Nice choice. 56 Weaver Jack was one of my first GECs. I imagine those single bladed versions will be nice and light in the pocket!

I've got a couple GECs and I'm so, so happy with them. Great designs, great execution, great users.
