You guys and your GEC knives.......

Just got my second, GEC 81 Stockman in Blackwood the best knife I have ever seen or handled !

I bought the same one. I'm very pleased with mine also. I've been carrying it in a pocket slip from KSF since I got it. I do like stockmans.

Man, the fit and finish on this thing is exceptional. They got me hook, line and sinker. You guys are a bad influence!

Got exactly the same knife myself. Readbeardo, you are completely right the finish on these single blade 56s is really impressive, great bone as well! I use this knife quite a bit in the garden and it will slice salami thin let me tell you.

Thanks, Will

I think I have 1001 uses for this knife especially since the hawkbill is a bit more subtle than most I've seen. I really wanted one of the 3 blade variety but the easy open really won me over. Now that I have it and have seen what these guys can do, I may have to pick up one of those 3 bladed ones soon. Thanks for the tip on the salami willgoy, I might just have to whip out my log of summer sausage and put it to the test.

Try angled cuts for the salami, the pieces arrive bigger:D

I think the single blade is more pocket-friendly:thumbup:

Thanks Sonnemann, definitely one of the reasons it called to me. I still really like the 3 bladed version but just had to have the single for the features it has that the multi-bladed versions don't. Can't tell from your pick if yours has two or three, do you find that the main gets in the way of the secondaries? I still might pick up another with multiple blades at some point even though I really like this one.
