Here we have the addition of the material that will be used to make the pommel.

This is a take down knife so that little knob on the pommel has a hole through it through which a rob is placed. you then twist the rod, remove the knob/nut and then you can take the handle right off the knife.

Here is the knife all put together and ready for the final shaping of the guard and pommel.

This is tha last picture that John took. I will get some pictures of the finished knife up in the next couple of days.

Thanks Keith - this "knife-being-made" series of pics should keep us calm for a while. I think John's interpretation of the small personal-carry bowie is one of the very best. He uses a slightly wider blade than most (relative to its length) which lends a real look of strength to the knife.

OK, I put away my suitcase, passport and brass knuckles... those pics will hold me for awhile.;) Still looking forward to the finished product. Nice stag carver by the way.

I was wondering why the blade is signed "Fitch JS"? Was this made before he became a MS? Silly question!
