you guys name your knives?

Naming weapons is something that is very much a tradition in México. Especially in the army, they made us name the rifles and side arms.
The hawk is call “la mugrosa” (witch means the dirty one) named it like that because that’s pretty much the description of the job its intended for.
The knife is called “el sediento” the thirsty one.

Only one, a Swamp Rat Howlin' Rat, bought on a Friday the 13th when Amy-O and the gang were in Eastn for a PA Hog Trough(sp).

I named it Jason in honor of the date related to the Movie Friday the 13th, (which was actually filmed about 20 minutes from my house).

I have a couple of Al Mar knives that have names.

Ultra light Falcon: Big Al
Ultra light Hawk: Little Al
SLB: Stumpy

Names for my knives? No. I always thought naming inanimate objects was really corny.

I call them all by there true names: Ivory Sebenza, Ebony Mnandi, Cocobolo Sebenza, Box Elder Mnandi, Umnumzaan, and so forth and so on. . . .

No i don't...

But that sounds like a potentially fun way to make your friends nervous: Start calling your knife "Mr Stabby" and talking about what it likes and doesn't like. :D

"Mr. Stabby really likes that new Walking Dead show, yes he does."

"Mr. Stabby likes squirrels, they taste yummmy."

"Mr. Stabby doesn't like it when people say his owner is crazy. No he doesn't. That makes him ANGRY!"

Pure awesomeness!!

I have not named any knives, but I sort of like the idea so long as you don't name every single knife you have. Perhaps just naming one or two of your favorites.

Although I have never named a knife I have named a few guns. It was something that started in boot with me naming my M16
"Marguerite". My first .45 I just called "friend". I will probably name my new .45 as well just haven't yet.

normally no, I don't name my knives. I did slap a moniker on one though. Last year, I designed, and Tim Olt made, two, the top one in A2 Carbon steel, and the lower one in S30V Stainless.
I named these "Osceola Companion", 'cause the Osceola National Forest is my favorite place to hang out.

Hahaha, no, I don't generally name my knives because I am not a crazy person. ;)

I once had to name a rifle, but that wasn't my choice...Her name was 'Heather'. :D

I have rifles named .. Leanne, Doris, May and Page. I'm sooooooo CRAZY whoooooyayayayayaya chachachachacha !!!!!!

I'm stoked ... I make my own choices! :D

Most knives already have a moniker of some sort so I've never thought to give them nicknames as well.

All of my knives (and multitool) are still just tools.

If I had anything particularly special, significant, or interesting, I might be persuaded.

Of course, it really doesn't help that I can't afford anything particularly special, significant, or interesting :o.

Love the lighting bolt on the handle of that one .........really nice. No on naming stuff for the most part ,though I did introduce my ASH-1 as "Bessie" once to a freind of mine.
