You have 1 month to spend $100,000 on 10-20 knives or lose it! What do you buy?

Doesn't have to be in order of desire, just list what you'd like by maker and blade/blades!
Here's mine:
Bill McHenry 3-4 autos, half kick-sprung, half auto-axis, very high-end, like his first one, the Doppelanger (pictured below) $30,000
Jeff Harkins 3-4 custom versions of his upcoming DA OTF and a couple of "tricked out" Alphas and Shards. $20,000
Walter Brend 3-4 various fixed blades.$7,000
Tony Marfione 3-4 custom versions of the upcoming DA OTF Ultratech. $13,000

Let's see, I have around $30,000 left, suggestions?
Oh, I know, I would definately include Larry Chew, Ken Steigerwalt (sp?).

Please Where ever possible, provide links and photos.

Here's my photo contribution, by Bill McHenry & Jason Williams.

This is Bill's first auto using the Axis lock. The Custom Auto AXIS by Bill McHenry & Jason Williams. They call it the 'Doppelanger' . The damascus is by Jerry Rados. IT has an anodized titanium frame, and Mother-of-Pearl scales. The titanium backbar is fileworked, engraved and inlaid. The action is activated by sliding back slightly what looks to the 'latch'. When the blade is deployed, sliding back the 'latch' releases the AXIS lock. *

Notice the beautiful inlay of a woman's face on the spine.

Porsche 911, a WHOLE bunch of H&Ks, a brand new Bridgeport milling machine......and spend the rest on titanium and talonite!!!!! (maybe a few hundred pounds of CPM steel too!)

4 knives from Don Fogg of various styles
4 knives from Tim Herman of various styles
3 swords from my choice makers
1 JW Smith folder

And I don't think I'd have enough money after that to do much.

I could spend hours going through Don Fogg's site...

It's a lot harder to find knives and makers that you truly enjoy than it is to find ways to spend a lot of money. I'd rather spend a month in the shop with a guy like Don, and leave without a knife.

Do we have to own the knives in one month, or just have an order placed? I'm not sure if Tom Mayo could fill my order in a month. Also, Lynn Griffith and other custom makers have a 2-3 year backlog.

If I have to have the knives in my possession, then I'd go to E-bay and bid from them.

God - that's only about $15,000... ummm, throw in an authentic katana. That'd do it.

you could easily spend the whole wad on two or three nice Japanese swords! Most of the ones that cost more than that are in the archive of the Japanese national treasures.

I know where you could get a Scagel folder that would take up about 25 Grand of those funds!
My personal choice though would be something from Virgil England, and his prices are like Michael Walkers, so you would be done in one shot!

I’d go with Tom’s suggestion in a hot minute. Here’s a nice one for starters; a Koyama Munetsugu katana for $35,000.00. A few of these puppies and you’d be back to pocket change in no time.

tim herman sliver.the little buggers run anywhere from 75,000 to about a million

How about an original Masamune?

Tim Herman Wall Street Tactical. D/A hidden release auto, Charoite scales, engraved platinum bolster and liners. And since he also does jewelery, have him do up a Rolex just like it.

I'd drop the 100K as a deposit and make payments to him for the balance. I think I still got my mortgage company's number around here somewhere.

See2: Well first I strongly doubt you'll find one for sale, $100,000 wouldn't cover it, and you wouldn't be able to possess it anyway.

But there are relatively few who see the prices as justified (I'm one of them), and a person throwing money into an old sword that they can't appreciate is being wasteful with their money.

I would buy the entire iventory of Bud K knives!!.... Matter of fact, the entire company

. Then I would take my new collection out on a charter fishing trip, (Clearwater, Fl) and sink the whole lot.... The Grouper would probably laugh too!!
With the leftover $$$$, I would put together an inventory of QUALITY factory knives along with some customs and set up shop! This would do the entire knife community a WORLD of good, success would be GUARANTEED!!
I just recieved the BUD K catalog for WHATEVER reason (sorry for the rant) and had a good laugh as I flipped through it. Not even good bathroom reading

In case 100k does not cover it I'll go in halfs with you as long as we can do a little fishing while we are using the boat!

Here's a picture from Miami Nice Knife of another of McHenry's knives; again with a woman's face inlaid on the spine:
