You have got to be F-ing kidding me !!!!!!!!!!

Almost looks like he is doing a study of different blades or practicing his CAD skills.

Oh yeah! The Hogs of Hell should come down on him hard, zombie-killer style. Go get 'em D-Brown:thumbup:.

He may just be a fellow knife knut?
What would he think about BadMojo or Busse Collector?

I gotta ask... this one looks familiar but I can't place it.

I would hope a fan if he is one,( I do not speak the language  ) would know if you post all that specific info with precise measurements that counterfeiters & knock off guys could just plug it in ???

I wonder if this fan contacted Jerry & said hey I am going to publish all the dimensions of your knife designs & Jerry said cool.

again just looking out for the Boss & do not mean to offend anyone but it was a little shocking, & this is related to a guy on E-bay selling Greg Lightfoot exact copies on E-bay that even has his makers mark on them.

Here is a more detailed pic that he links to;

I'm pretty sure it takes a whole lot more than just accurate measurements to duplicate a knife.

Also if any one wanted to mass produce a knockoff, they could and would buy an origional to make sure the copy is accurate.

I don't see the harm, but if Jerry doesn't like it and has copyrights on the designs, he could do something about it.

This could be good for personal use: I want to start to try making knives and sketches like this could help me as an inspiration and ideas for handle shapes.

Problem is: too many people don't understand the meaning of "personal use".

I think everyone needs to relax a bit. My lawnmower came with a full engine schematic, but that doesn't mean I'm going to run out and build me a Briggs and Stratton knockoff, or that we'll be seeing them show up on E-bay anytime soon. Heck I've seen people post images in this and other forums that would provide any would be knock off artist enough information to produce a copy.

There doesn't appear to be anything nefarious about this site in question and chance are it would never have appeared on any would be counterfeiters radar (before it was so visibly posted here of course.)

To me it looks like it might have been an academic project; Turning a passion for knives into something to design for a dissertation / thesis or practising skills.

I may be totally wrong, but I wouldn't have instinctively thought there was something nefarious about it.

Exactly. People publish monographs on cars, architecture, furniture, guns... freakin' Star Trek, for Pete's sake. What is it that you think is being "given away"?

It's perhaps not the most creative undertaking on earth, but I don't think it's necessarily malicious.

Apart from overall dimensions, which are readily available, he has not got detailed information there, just sketches. If you found a good photograph, and knew one key overall dimension, you could scale the rest and get exactly what he's got. Looks like CAD practice to me.
That knife looks almost like a cross between a TOPS (Anaconda?) and an Uncle MoFo...???

Reminds me also of some of Hossom's lovely recent collaborations with Spyderco.
True...

Guys, I'm guessing this is a just a fan site where someone with a little talent and time is fantasizing. Gosh knows I do it with pics of Busses I don't own. I think it would be easier to just ship a original to an Chinese manufacturer to get things started if forgeries were the case.
