You have got to be F-ing kidding me !!!!!!!!!!

I think the people who are getting their panties in a wad over this need to find something better to do.

There is nothing wrong or illegal with that.

I gotta ask... this one looks familiar but I can't place it.

I wish I still had the pics, but I know a fellow forumite (I'll keep anonymous) who has never owned a Bussehas, but yet recreated about a dozen styles just using photos in the for sale area. He's gotten the details like the tube fasteners, the talon holes, and even the grinding on the micarta down tight. I couldn't tell the differce from his photo. If you know how to make knives, you don't need schematics; just a kiln, and various power tools.

well, as long as the knives aren't being made by this guy, there is no law against making drawings and posting them. But if he's selling the drawings or making knives from them and selling them, then he may have problems if he's in the US. Outside the US our rules do not apply so anyone can copy anything, hence all the chinese copies of current knife designs.

Hmmmmmmm, this will make Grinducci's job much easier, I wonder if the guy has SHBM and SHSHII drawings??????????????

Well I guess I was out of line then, for looking out, sorry for "getting my panties in a bunch" Stupid me !! Later Folks.

no, it's always good to keep track of things, because you never know if they are making knives or not. I don't know how you got your panties in a bunch when according to KAAK you wear a thong.

I found this site last Jan when I was first looking into Busse knives.
Emailed Busse Combat, even though I didn't have any of their knives...
The Boss Hog himself said they were on it like Ugly on an Ape:eek:

But it is still there...
Must be hard to control web content in Pakistan?

On that website:
If you call the Busse Shop regarding SHARP EDGE enterprise, we will NOT sell to you . ..ever! It is that simple and there are NO exceptions. We have an agreement with Busse and any violation of this could end in us losing our contract.

What is this about? Is the agreement like "As long as they don't know what we're doing, we are allowed to sell those knives"?

More from their FAQ:

Q: Why are we doing this?
A: Our parent company, Evergreen Knife Co. was founded on manufacturing the highest performance knives on the planet. As technology developed and increased, so did the costs and in turn, the prices. Now, the Busse Combat line has become too expensive for many of the very customers who they were originally designed for: Military, Law Enforcement, and Rescue personnel.

To epistasis and others who figure Dave jumped too quick,

We Hogs are a protective bunch. We have a loyalty to the Busse brand you probably can't find anywhere else in the cutlery world. When we find something that even smacks of unauthorized activity we start to snarl and sharpen our tusks on trees. If you think it too much, then shrug your shoulders or whatever, but your admonitions won't matter. Welcome to our forum, kick back and take a load off.

Dave you're good in my book (unless of course anything below is true, then you can stay away from me at Blade next year).

well, at one point KAAK said he was Daves thong, but he must have been tipsy. Crack does kill, however.

I think I am going to be sick! :barf:

BC, this is also a major cut and paste from the old SR site. I don't think FAQ is still there, but like the example below, you can tell they just switched some names and were just sloppy about it.

Regarding the earlier Pakistani copy of Swamp Rats website, this is from the real SR Site:

Swamp Rat Co. Site said:
DO NOT CALL THE BUSSE SHOP for any questions, comments, or inquiries concerning Swamp Rat Knife Works. They are not us and we are not them. All questions must be forwarded in the form of emails. Emails will be responded to within 48 hours. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason whatsoever. If you call the Busse Shop regarding Swamp Rat Knife Works, we will NOT sell to you . . .ever! It is that simple and there are NO exceptions. We have an agreement with Busse and any violation of this could end in us losing our contract.

It was to make it clear that Busse and SR were separate operations. If Busse had to waste it's staff's time all day answering SR questions, then it would not be worth it to have a subsidiary concern. Busse was already busy enough with it's own workload.

Let me check.

No. Nope. No panties in a wad...in fact, no panties!:D

Still, I get your point. This is just an example of friends keeping an eye out for friends.

YEAH DAVE! Quit screwing around and get back in that kydex H. hole and make my SHEATHS!!

As I remember the discussions, we concluded that this was someone's web-coding project in a programming class (Note that the base URL is a comp.sci department at a .edu domain in Pakistan). No actual blades were being offered for sale.

Good catch and all the emails on his site still link to @swamprat.com addresses.
