You know you're old when...

You're old when you can remember claw machines at the carnival having pocket knives as prizes.

My 48 Pontiac has a factory installed heater and it was standard equipment in '48. It's a combination heater/window defroster.
The heating coil is under the driver's seat.

Have you started getting your suppers at 4:30 pm yet?

With a coupon??
Haha of course I have. I’m up at 4. Breakfast at 4:30. Lunch at 10. Nap from 12 to 2. Dinner at 4:30 (at the latest). I show up with an accordion folder chock full of coupons and clippings. And by 7 o’clock I’m ready for cocoa then bed. It’s quite a lifestyle. I’m one wild and crazy guy 😆

Couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things.
During a check-up, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay,
but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember
..
Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his
chair. 'Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?' he asks.
'Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?'
'Sure.'
'Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?' she asks.
'No, I can remember it.'
'Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write
it down, so as not to forget it?'
He says, 'I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.'
'I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it
down?' she asks.
Irritated, he says, 'I don't need to write it down, I can remember it!
Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness
sake!'

Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, the old man
returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs.
She stares at the plate for a moment.

"Where's my toast?"

Some goof started using vintage instead of pre-owned or used.
Thought it sounded better..........
See that a lot on eBay.
Like the term "value priced" for low quality but cheap price.....

Don't forget about "retro"...
It all sounds better than "old".

You know you're old when you remember when Buck came out with the 110, and you looked at it and thought "That will never go over big. Who wants to lug around a half pound of brass to hold only one thin blade?"

You know you're old when you remember how mad you got when the price of gas went up to .30 cents a gallon.

You know you're old when you remember President Kennedy announcing he was sending troops to advise in Vietnam, and you said "Where the hell in Vietnam?"

You know you're old when you remember how nice a car the Hudson Hornet was.

You know you're old when you remember the new and hoopla when the Boeing 707 went into service and seeing the last of the triple tailed Constellations at the airport.

We called them the drag lines. 10 cents a turn. As I recall, we won some Camillas folding fish knives.
You know you're getting old when they give you Viagra at the nursing home to keep you from rolling out of bed at night. :)

Sounds like you’re at the age where food has taken the place of sex. Maybe you should think about hanging a mirror over your kitchen table.

I am not a fan of these new fangled knives like flint. I like to stay traditional.

When I was a kid, it was dark all the time. Then one day, BANG, brightness. Someone said "light". Guess the name stuck.

Heaters optional? Not sure about that -- early cars didn't even have "heater" but AC certainly was optional for a long time and almost no cars in my area (SF) never had any because who needs AC in San Francisco (where it's HOT when it hits 80)?
If I remember correctly only Hawaii offered cars without heaters way back in the "old days"

You know you are old when you no longer buy wine that takes sitting in the cellar for 25 years before you can drink it.
You know you are old when you know why people used to have canvas bags full of water hanging on their car grill

First car I remember was my dad's '39 Packard. It had an aftermarket heater that sat atop the transmission hump, against the firewall.
I owned an old Packard at one time; had belonged to my 7th-grade teacher until she left town, and teaching (I suspect), when we pulled one too many nasty pranks on her...

One of my first real knives, besides a SAK, was an Endura. The serrated edge was magic to me. Spyderco came out swinging! Changed the knife world forever imo. I remember breaking the built in clip.. terrible day. The Cold steel Carbon V twist master & voyagers were decent as well.
