You left home in the morning and you take your favorite knife with you.......

- Does it take care of all the cutting needs of the day
- Can you survive a week in the Alaskan wilderness with it?
- Can you skin a squirrel whit that knife?
- Is it easy to clean before you use it as a steak knife in a restaurant
- Do you dare give it to your child who wants to peel an apple with it
- If the knife drowns or breaks, is it "the end of the world"
1) It does take care of all my cutting needs.
2) I will freeze to death in the Alaskan wilderness most likely, but my knife will be just fine. ;)
3) Squirrels run faster than me...except for the already dead ones. I don't want to eat an already dead squirrel.
4) I have alcohol wipes with me, so cleaning it is easy. Have used various knives as steak knives when out eating.
5) Don't have kids. For other people's kids, their parents should probably handle their knife needs.
6) I have a bunch of knives. If it break or falls in the river I'd be pissed off, but life would continue.

Yup.
- Can you survive a week in the Alaskan wilderness with it?
Maybe. Depends on what else I've got with me.
- Can you skin a squirrel whit that knife?
Never tried. If anything were lacking it would by my abilities, not those of the knife.
- Is it easy to clean before you use it as a steak knife in a restaurant
Beats me. I don't use a pocket knife as a steak knife in restaurants.
- Do you dare give it to your child who wants to peel an apple with it
No problem. My youngest is 32. She carries a razor knife and a Delica every day for work purposes,
- If the knife drowns or breaks, is it "the end of the world"
Nope. I'm of Scottish decent. And I know stuff happens to knives, so I don't carry knives that I'm afraid to lose.

I always have multiple blades with me.
All cutting chores can be addressed.
I live in AK and spend lots of time in the woods- my knife choices when going of the roadsystem are based on being survival knives- yes I can survive.
All I need to skin a squirrel or rabbit is a small cut at nape of neck and my fingers. Can open body cavity with an axe or any knife.
Easy to clean- yes.
I do not have kids, but I would let a 14 y/o girl I know use any of my knives.
If I lost any of the ones I would likely have with me I would be upset and replace them. If they broke, warranty would replace them. In town carry would be CPE magnacut tanto horizontal, PM 2 right front pocket, Tenacious or Dagger in left pocket for dirty use, David Mary Badger Scout AEB-L neck knife or AK M2 neck knife.
Country: same neck knives, CPE magnacut or CPK kephart horizontal, Endura’s with orange scales each front pocket, CPK SDFK or Deibert chopper on right hip.

Today's knives were a Spyderco Police 4 and an ESEE 4HM, so I'd go with yes I could; although it's going to depend on the kid who gets a hold of the knife more than the knife. They're both knives I could and would replace if necessary.
