You Might Want To Avoid Bestech!

Perhaps more reading and less posting?
I thought that people that participate in forums like this one are people who care about where and how a knife is made - people who get satisfaction from owning a quality knife made by people who care. The more "reading" I do the more I learn this is not true.

I picked up a small flipper from them 2 years ago and it was Tight, smooth as butter, and drop shutty but maybe times have changed.

Eyyyy! 🤣

Seriously though, that's a bummer. I've owned a couple budget Bestechs and they weren't great. The one more expensive offering I've owned, though, was excellent; its quality matched its price point. I've found Kizer to be similar: the main line is fantastic, the Vanguard line is a mixed bag, and Tangram is not worth the money.

By contrast, QSP and WE seemed to have both their budget and fancy offerings nicely dialed in, with no dip in QC or functionality in their budget lines.
I will avoid Bestech. It was on my radar, but have not purchased from them to date.

I have 3 Civivis and each is a gem. I recently received a QSP Parrot and am impressed. The PB pivot is smooth as butter and thumb stud deployment is fine. No blade play, and tight as a drum.

I have purchased well over 20 knives form Bestech.

Mainly their G10/linerlock line and one high-end titanium framelock, the Horus.

None of them have had any quality control problems.

Bestech has become one of my favorite knife companies—I always check-out the new products they have.

If you want to spend $300.00 - $400.00 for a Chinese knife that has the "look" that is certainly your choice. I see no reason to be proud of that fact.
Well I have many many more in that price range or more that is American made. The picture that you see is what I have of that type. I like a little variety in life at times. So we all think differently, it would be a boring place to live if we didn't. Like I said, I have 4 of them compared to well over 100 of the American made variety. Quit being so hateful and judgemental dude, life's too short. I wish the best for you !

In other news…..G’bye Sibymes. (And welcome to ignore.) 😐
Exactly brother ! Good seeing you on here, Hope all is well on your side of the rock ! Man I don't get why some people can be so shallow minded. I was always taught to respect others and treat people how you would want to be treated. I mean my goodness we're all on here cause we like sharp pointy tools ! I'm truly happy for others when they have something that they like. What I think holds no value.

I have a Bestech Falko that quickly became my favourite folding knife with regard to action. Absolutely gorgeous. Fit and finish is on point, too. No issues whatsover. Can't say that of most of my Spydercos.

People will always judge things (and people) because of their origin. Seen one, seen all. Which is dumb, of course.

Don’t feel bad! Just consider the lock rock a fancy feature like apparently Sebenza does! ;)

(Sorry couldn’t help it!)

My A Purvis Progeny V2 is made by Bestech. It's a great knife, but it came with a bunch of gunk in the pivot and the detent was extremely excessive. I loved the handle and blade. I took it apart, cleaned the gunk out, bent the lockbar slightly to ease the detent, lube, and now it's great. As good as my WE or ZT flippers? No, but close. Others here have had no issues with this same knife. My only issue is the clip.

If you don't like it, send it back if you aren't willing to take steps to make it better.

My point being that there are several quality Chinese brands. You apparently are not reading enough, or in the right places. Search "Civivi", "Reate", "WE", "Kizer".

The higher end Bestechs $250+ and up are very well made knives. Right there with WE & Reate. Some aspects are even better like the use of a solid D-shaped pivot. Bestech is also the OEM for Vero Engineering and people rave about them.

You get what you pay for... for $70 don't expect the finest materials and engineering regardless of the maker.
