You own the Para2 and Manix 2.

Only you can justify the worth of a knife. The knife user's motto: Get both :)

Yep, one day I will own both. They seem to be out of stock right now though! The only thing that made me jump on a Manix 2 is the S30V and the ball lock is a very cool design.

It's going for very close to the same price I paid for the Para 2.

Yeah, they are probably $20-30 more expensive. I'll end up getting both someday. Unless of course a Para 3 comes out?!

I have both the S30V Para 2 and 154cm Manix 2 and they are among my favorite knives. If I were to choose between the Para 2 and the blue FRN Manix 2, however, I'd definitely choose the Para 2. I'd rather have G-10 than FRN, I prefer S30V as a blade steel and I much prefer the screw construction over the pinned construction. I'm not saying that the FRN Manix 2 is a bad blade, but I believe that the Para 2 is completely worth the additional cost.

I use all of them.At this time i like the para a little more than the manix.
If you like the solide feel of the para you should take a G10 Manix,
if i remember right is the new one S30V not 154CM.
Also Manix sprint runs have S30(orange,blue,moonglow, green)
If you like a Lightweight good not to expenisive EDC take the FRN Manix.

If you don't own any frn knives, I would handle one first. I really dislike frn, but prior to owning one I had no idea D: If you have a brick and mortar store near by that carries the light weight manix, or any other frn spidies, it might be in your best interest to check it out. That being said I quite pleased with my para 2. It is good knife.

I don't like FRN at all. I think the price is justified with steel, g10 and locking mechanism. I love my manix 2 in 154cm/g10 but I just think the pm2's are in another league and worth every penny.

I'm pretty sure the lightweight Manix 2 is not FRN but rather a different material called FRCP.

I have a Para 2 camo and Manix 2 BD30P and I prefer the Para 2. The Manix is a great blade with good ergo's, but the Para just feels better in my hand. This is my personal preference though.

This hasn't been mentioned yet but isn't the s30v manix2 hollow ground while the p2 and other Manix steels are ffg?

I have had the trans blue, s30v para 2 and an orange s30v Manix 2 FFG. Right now in my pocket is the orange manix. The trans blue one is great, but i could not get past the feel of the handle. It just felt brittle. I know its not and i know it would handle anything i gave it, but it was in my head so i traded it for a BM Bone collector Mini in D2. The Trans blue is NOT FRN though. All my Para 2s have been sold. For the size and weight i prefer more usable blade and blade to handle ratio. the choils on the para are not for me and the location o=f its compression lock bites my hand when i open it.

GAYLE BRADLEY lol loving that friggin knife, I bought a para 2 and a gayle bradley at the same time so i got them together I've owned several para 2s before but sold them all off, the para 2 is still in the box , the bradley is in the pocket freakin love that knife I've owned the manix 2, manix xl, military, a few para 2s, some enduras, delicas, and a stretch, and the bradley is the best knife I've owned hands down , I have a nice collection now and the bradley is still top dog i'm fixing to make a thread about it, sorry i wasnt much help but i love that knife.

Out of all my Spydies the Para 2 stands alone as far as feel and cutting and knowing it will not let me down when I need it.! I like the Manix 2 Blue but it is way to light as I like to feel like I have a Knife clipped to my pocket and the Para2 answers that question hands down.

I own a Para1 full serrated, and a pair of standard Para2's (black & satin blades). I absolutely LOVE the Para line of knives. And, at street price of around a hundred bucks, I think they're worth the $.

I scored a brand-new G10 Manix2 on the exchange a few weeks ago for either $50. or $60. I thought the price was good & thought I'd give it a try. While I like the robustness & the way it feels in my hand, I hate the lock on the Manix2.

There already is one

I think that if you compare the new S30V bladed G10 Manix 2 to the Para 2 the results are going to be very similar. I have both a 154CM Manix 2 and a Para 2 and they compare very closely in size. The Manix IS quite a bit heavier, but not enough for me to abandon G10 and buy the lightweight Manix 2. I DO like the FFG blade that comes standard on the Para 2 though over the saber grind that the regular Manix 2 has. If the standard blade was a FFG, and the handles were skeletonized to reduce some weight, the 2 knives would be a tossup. Basically it would just be 'Pick you lock type'.

Of the two original knives questions, the M2 is the better value, but better value doesn't mean it's the better knife. You pay more for the Para 2 because you get more knife.

My Manix 2 FRN is my summer shorts knife. Its great for when I go to the beach or the gym and I don't want the weight of my Manix 2 XL weighing down my pockets and making my shorts sag. Its definitely a lighter duty knife than the Para 2 or the Manix 2 or my 2 XL but great for box opening, cutting thin rope, thin plastic straps and other light duty tasks. The Para 2 I feel is more capable when it comes to heavier tasks such as cutting thick rope, thick cardboard, heavier plastics and whittling wood. It really depends on what your realistically looking to use the knife for and what kind of pants or shorts you plan on wearing when you carry it. Also the Manix 2 FRN sits low in the pocket and the wire clip isn't as obvious as the Para 2 and it doesn't print as much as the Para 2 when wearing thin materials. If that sort of thing concerns you. Sean
