You remind me of someone I know..

I hear this on a pretty regular basis. Several times I've had people come up to me and start a conversation with me, only to realize I was the wrong person. One guy and his wife thought I was the guy's brother, until they realized there was no way he could be where I was at the time. People always tell me I look like someone they went to school with, or remind them of someone they know. I'd like to think that I look and act distinctively, but I guess I've got a bunch of clones running around.

So does anyone else get mistaken for other people, or get told they look just like someone else?

When I was the Air Force, I swung by the Shoppette for something. In the parking-lot, someone started calling to me. I don't remember the name, but it wasn't mine.

He eventually realized I wasn't whoever they thought I was.

He said he'd just returned from Iceland, and thought I was someone he knew from there.

Curiously, I'm of Icelandic descent.

I knew this guy in College, Paul, I met him in Community college, We were studying in the same program. We looked alike, A lot alike, Same height same build, similar facial features similar hair and beard. I would get stopped at least twice a week by someone asking me; "Hey Paul, when is that art history exam? or Paul, can you show me how to run the photo typesetting machine? About a year and a half later We both transfered to the same state university and within a few months it started all over again. Paul was in the work study program at the university and he worked in the library. On two occasions Paul's Co-workers came up to me when I was in the library asking me about something work related.

I still get mistaken for other people now, (not Paul) quite frequently, so apparently I now look like someone else.
