You will like the new Fire Kits

What if I said we are working on an RTAK style blade?
 
Sounds like this is going to be an expensive summer! :eek:
H.E.S.T. and now a new and improved designed fire kit - what else is getting ready to fall on our wallets? And Jeff don't try to say "You don't have to buy it!" - you KNOW :grumpy: we WILL :)? He is probably just not telling us about the RC-8 through RC-23's.
 
Hell, everyone has asked us for a RC version of the overpriced short machete so I figure it is our duty to accept their money :D

In all seriousness, I think there is a definite need/niche for this size knife. Even if it is tropical ;)

Are you kind of sort of hinting to everyone and asking what we would like to see and our opinion?

If you are, 5160 steel is what I would like to see. That steel is great and is more rust resistant in Central America than 1095 is uncoated. I have a home in Panama, and I am always outside spending time in the bush and would love to have a couple of these. I love my 5160 knives I have down there. Plus it's just a very tough steel.

After seeing what you have been able to get 1095 to do, I can only imagine what you could get 5160 to do. I have many ideas I would like to see.

Sorry for high jacking the thread, but when I read about a new RTAK, I felt like the wife does when she goes in a shoe store. :o

Well, I for one am GLAD I carry the disease. Ill be buying another firekit (new to go with the 2 current models) and a RC-RTAK to go with my other 12 RATs... agree on the "gonna be an expensive summer" atleast knifes are moderately priced. My AR15 collection the last 4 years has cost me WAY more than I care to admit.

That's one addiction I'm glad I kicked.

I went lever action and haven't looked back. My "redneck assault rifles" do everything I need and cost half that of a base model AR.

Amen. I love my lever guns and revolvers and double barrel shotguns and breech-loading rifles.
 
Sweet! Awesome news for both the new knife and fire starters.
Now, how to talk the wife into a reason on why I need another knife...
