Same haha. It's an actually problem for my neighborhood, I live on a very steep hill, so any amount of snow makes it incredibly dangerous to drive out. :(

Here's my new Spyderco Dodo in CF. I got it for $180 NIB; that's what the going price was when they were being produced! Vesuvius w/inlay expected any time today.

Eli, you will definitely enjoy the Vesuvius. It's a very nice, almost jewel-like little EDC folder. I got the half SpydieEdge version. Which did you find?

Great! It looks like a nice knife. Here's the one that I got, picture of the actual knife:

VERY nice. I was actually watching a few of those, but in the end, decided that I wasn't sure if I'd want to carry it, so I went with the black handled version instead.

I won't be using/carrying it much, but it will get a share of carry time. I EDC a BM mini sheepsfoot Griptilian, but I rotate my favorite Spydercos and Kershaws through sometimes.

Well, keep me posted on how that scale wears, yeah? I DO think it's beautiful. If it stands up to whatever you throw at it, then it may be back on "the List". Currently, I am fixated with my GB, but do carry a second knife which is usually a smaller blade. That's the one I'll whip out to snip a thread, or open an envelope. "Are you admitting that you carry a knife, but then also carry a second, smaller knife in order to do the tasks that theoretically are the reason you were carrying the first knife in the first place?"

Uhhmmm...uhhh...well, I mean...yes. Yes, I am.

Haha. I will keep you posted.

BTW, when I handled the GB at the Spyderco outlet I couldn't easily opperate the liner lock. How do you do it without the cut out in the non-lock-side scale?

I got to handle a Native at a local outdoor store. It was really nice. Now i might have to get one :(

I use the...hmmm.. the meat of my thumb is the best way to explain it. I absolutely agree that it's not as easy to operate as framelocks normally are (or should be, that's for sure). For me, I did a lot of reading after all of the pictures of this knife in the open position made me drool. I knew going into it that the framelock tab and partially obscured Spyderhole were issues for people. I wasn't sure how I personally would be with it, but when I got it, and the first time that knife locked up, and it felt nearly like a fixed blade in my hand, the framelock issue became secondary. This is such a tough, strong feeling knife, that I sincerely don't mind it being a two-handed operation knife. Because yes, for me, it is. I have seen folks in other GB threads describe how they are able to close the knife one-handed, but I haven't successfully done so myself. I can deploy it no problem. But when I close it, I use both hands to do so.

It's definitely something that anyone considering this knife has to keep in mind. For me it was fine, but I respect that for others, it won't be. There are plenty of super tough, rock-solid lockup knives out there that will do everything this GB will do, but will be able to be closed one handed.

Not many of 'em will do it as stylishly, however! :D

That's a nice get there man. I've always wanted one of those (or the orange) but never had the funds when they popped up. I gotta find me such a lucrative pet sitting job.... But then again I'd probably go on a knife buying spree. Haha
