Your advice needed on choosing a couple of RATs.

Thanks for a good discussion on this topic. I enjoyed it. I have also wondered if I should go for the RC3 or 4 whenever I decide to purchase. It looks like the 4 catches my attention for more general use and I also like a bit longer blade.

The RC-3 is a great small utility blade too, but the 4 is just the perfect balance of thickness, length and overall utility.

RC-3mil should be here between now and 3pm - needless to say I'm not leaving my apartment :D

The eagle has landed, my RC-3mil #0412!

I am so pleased I cannot even express it with words and I havn't put it down all afternoon. I can't imagine needed another knife or a realistic task that this thing would not do.

It is just such a quality tool - the fit, finish and colors are excellent and accessories are wonderful. I feel like I stole this thing for the price I payed.

It feels perfect in my hand, light and quick. Perfect grip and balance. PERFECT size for me. If I wanted to, it would be easy to just slip it in my back or front pocket for EDC carry - it is so NOT bulky with the sheath and will be perfect in any EDC bag I use. I don't know why I was worried about the glass breaker - its not really that sharp and isn't an issue in reverse grip with thump on top. Though I know it will make quick work of a window.

Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure:

Tomorrow my RC-4 and Izula should be here - honestly, I feel like I won the lottery. I'm just blown away.

Thanks again guys and big thanks to RAT for just being so damn awesome.

I used my Izula in combination with a Fallkniven H1 for bush and hunting trips. Was surprised how much I used the Izula and, whilst not perfect for the job, skinned and cleaned some largish animals (pigs and a Chamois) with it just to see how it went. I have a RC3 that gets a lot of use as well and an RC5 if the world comes down around my ears! Two knives that would handle most eventualaties would be the Izula and a RC4. Best of luck deciding man as I seem to be collecting these things!
