Of the Busse knife configurations you have owned, what are your all-time favorites?

By my best estimate I’ve owned about 65 Busse models and 130+ individual Busse knives including kin (started buying about 15 years ago). The following eight are my current favorites (in no particular order):

1) Black paper on satin NMFBM, full convex primary grind to blended convex edge, .26” thick
2) Muddy Mojo variant customized by Garth to my specs
3) Satin Basic 11 with asymmetrical edge hand-ground by Jerry
4) Scrapyard INFI S5 LE, modified by Ban Tang to my specs (full convex primary to zero edge, thumb ramp removed, radiused spine)
5) Factory-refinish Satin Basic 5 re-handled in stag by Dennis Riley (factory asym edge)
6) Factory-refinish Satin Basic 5 in Res-C with factory-thinned edge and point (factory asym edge)
7) Custom Shop SLUT (Super Light Ultra Thick) Meaner Street
8) Paul’s Hatchet with edge reprofiled by Ban (hollow-ground on one side/convex on the other) plus some mods he made for enhanced (to my taste) handling

NMSFNO-LE

Still waiting to get my NMFSH from the Santa Ganza to see if it'll overturn the NMSFNO-LE.

Boss Street (great size, handy and tough)
ASH-1 LE (perfect one knife size and not too thin or thick)
SFNO LE (best looking Busse)
SJTAC (versatile and tactical blade)
NMSFNO (doesn't look as good as SFNO but maybe more useful -- great balance in hand)

Some great replies so far. If you have a pic or two handy showing any of your personal fav's, please share--especially helpful on older knives for those who've joined recently, but I always like to see photos of knives other people find awe-inspiring. :D

Thanks!
Will

Mulder, which Ratmandu is your personal favorite? What NMFBM configuration?

Thanks, Bro.

I've forgotten what the Terror Monkey special configuration was on the Zero Tolerance Natural Outlaw E? ZT's were the best of the E-handles, I whole-heartedly agree.

#1 Basic 10 (The only thing to unseat the cactus whackin' Basic 9 I got from you Will!) Like it so much, I bought another choiless DCBB version that I don't have pics of yet.

That's a very sweet lineup, Stump Buster--thanks for those photos!

Looks like big Res-C choppers are fav's for a lot of people. Love 'em.

Great replies and pics--keep 'em coming.

Some good lookin' pork chops under that snake GW, Guyon. :D

Top Busse's as follows...

From most used to mostly used:

1. Meaner Street: It's done countless whitetail, many hogs and just about every other type of game a guy can shoot. It's just about the perfect outdoors knife for me. Originally blk coated, was stripped and tubes replaced with screws so I could remove the micarta scales to rinse off salt water after use. The rib-poking flange was removed to give it the AD profile. My ribs thank me.

2. Basic 11: I BBQ a lot. I use a variety of wood types depending on the flavor I'm trying to enhance the meat with. The B11 splits them all in a jiffy. It also excells in removing pesky junipers.

3. NMSFNO: Maybe the best all around knife Busse has ever made. It does everything and anything very well. The ergo's are just about perfect for my hand. No matter how I beat and bash this thing it maintains a fantastic edge... It 'feels' harder than my other infi when sharpening. I'm thinking some extra Scotch spilled into the INFI batter.

4. SAR 5: Even when Jerry makes a mistake, he's a genius. Stripped, modified, abused. Taking a little material off of the handle really improved the balance. Great user.

5. Meaner HACK: This thing is hell on whitetail. Just about the perfect size for my hand... I've processed many deer with this bad boy. This one really should be a production model. It is fantastic.

6. NMFBM: What list would be complete without the big-daddy! I've owned several models of Battle Mistress and this one is the perfection in the line. It chews through wood like a chainsaw... I wish I had two of these.

7. Ratmandu: It ain't infi... but SR101 is some seriously badazz stuff. Ergos are just about perfect... no, I retract that. They ARE perfect. Everyone should own at least one of these for each hand. Best value in the knife world today in my opinion.

.....

That's my list. It omits a ton of great Busse's, but I'm trying to list the ones I've used the most.
