Thought it would be fun to see everyone's birth year knife. I am shopping around for a birth year Case to EDC. I am thinking Hawbaker muskrat. Will include a photo when I settle on one.

About a month ago I decided to search out a knife that was made during the year of my birth, ended up grabbing a Case half whittler made in 78'. This x-mas I decided to gift myself a 6308 made in the same year.

Unique ex-knife from my collection. I sold it this summer, but "The Sportster" I can for sure say was close to 1954.

Mine might have to be in flint! :D

I was going to be kind and say a gladius... but since I'm even older than you, I think I'll just quietly go about my business. LOL!

I don`t have one from my birth year (don`t think knives were invented yet) but each of my 4 grandchildren have a Buck 110 and the old model Victorinox Soldier made in the year they were each born.

That's a cool idea. I guess 1979 isn't too bad :D. I would like to find a Schrade 881 made the year I was born. I have a hard enough time following all of the year stamps from Case and Buck, wouldn't know where to begin with Schrade.

Someone told me recently that I must have been "Just born yesterday", so that should make it easy for me! And something about a turnip truck? Whatever that means??!!!

Hard to find such a knife for those born before the 70's.
In "olden days" when knives were common tools rather than collector pieces, knives were not marked with the date of manufacture.

... and Jack beat me to it also.

I guess it should be a 110 since I was born the year it was designed but I gave mine to my Buck buddy because the thing was just too heavy even in a sheath!

I'd like to get my hands on a 1974 case folder. I have only owned one knife that was made on my birthday, and that knife was a small 'P' Sebenza that was made on my birth day and month, but about 19 years after I was born. I no longer have any Sebenzas, and I am now primarily into old timey slipjoints and traditionals, so a 1974 slipjoint would be neat to have.

A couple of years ago my kids got together and gave me something they claimed was from my birth year. It was a stone wheel labelled "prototype."

:D Always plenty of good humour on this forum. Have a lovely evening ladies and gentlemen, and Happy New Year to you :)

This was taken in Yorkshire a couple of years ago. Perhaps you know him. Actually I love this pic becuase it reminds me of myself attempting to fix things or renovate the house.
Any ideas on 1964 YOB knives?? would be very much appreciated.
