Your choice of knife for $50 shipped

Swiss army one hand trekker, 26.99 on amazon.com. All around great little knife for a day or weekend about in the woods, or anything else. I've seen some pretty decent praises for this knife here.

You know, you can get 'em about $5 LESS (hard to believe, but true) at www.qvc.com- about $22 shipped, last time I looked.

Man I really like this knife. Really like it a lot. Heck, I happen to think ALL folders need can opener, bottle opener, screwdrivers, awl, etc :D

So for your $50, get two!

The CRKT M1 is nice and about that price. I second the Native from Walmart it is alot of knife for the money.

Is AUS8 a soft metal? I don't want a blade with anything less then a 440 steel in the ability to keep an edge, and it has to have atleast a little corrosion resistence. Is AUS8 a bit harder then 440?

I would get....either....

Delica 4
Salt 1
or two g-10 Cara Cara's

Any red class Benchmade (even a few blue class), any Spyderco you can get under $50, a Camillus Cuda EDC, Kershaw Storm, Blur, Scallion, Buck/Strider SBMF 889, Byrd G-10 Cara Cara, SOG Flash II, Ka-Bar Dozier ($20 for a great knife), Ka-Bar Dozier Thorn (I have seen them for around $60, D2, very tough knife) Victorinox SAK, Becker Necker, Buck Hartsook neck knife, BK-7, Kershaw Speed Bump, I could go on, but I am hungry.

Man, it seems getting a knife for under $50 means either 440 steel or AUS8. I have seen the Speed Bump for between $50-$55, but I am on a strict $50 with this Visa gift card I have that can be used to order things online like a credit card. Sadly, it has to be under $50 shipped. I think I will go with either the SOG Flash II or the Dozier Thorn, I just found a place to get the SOG Flash II for under $40 and the Thorn looks promising, but I will do some more looking. Froogle is awesome, found a Sharpmaker for under $50 shipped, brand new, not from eBay, and have found better prices then I though possible, better then eBay in most cases are possible from real websites.

Couldn't you just use the $50 and then kick in like 10-20 of your own? Unless you can't spare any money at the moment...

No, I can only use the $50 on the gift card, so here are my final choices that I am going to choose from:

Spyderco Endura 4
Byrd Cara Cara G10 + SAK
SOG Flash II
Ka-Bar Dozier Skinner
Kerhaw Cyclone
Kershaw Centofante
Browning Black Lightning

I am leaning on the Endura 4 or the Dozier, maybe the SOG Flash 2 if it comes down to it. What do you think?

Pretty good list... The Ka-Bar Dozier should only run about $20 so you could add a SAK to that purchase too (if you wanted a SAK). What about getting both the Ka-Bar AND the Cara Cara?

Why are you guys choosing all these knives that cost under $50. If you can have any folder for $50 why not choose something really nice?:D :p hehe

Because I have a $50 gift card that I am going to spend. Who said I am not going to be spending more without the gift card? The Cara Cara/Dozier Skinner is a good idea, that seems like a lot of knife for $50. The Spyder Endura 4 does have better steel though.... tough choice.
