Ok, So I'm sitting here killing time by looking at sharpened pieces of steel that I hope to one day have the good fortune to purchase. Problem is, there are just too damn many awesome knives that I simply MUST have. So, I started asking myself "ok Ant, if you could only pick just ONE knife what would it be?" After hours of comtemplation (or perhaps just a few minutes) I decided that my dream knife is TK Steingass Camp Master in W2 with a hamon. Just like this one. Ofcourse, This is right now. Who knows what it will be tomorrow... :D

Now how about you guys?

Something from T.K. Steingass would have to be on the list. Come to think of it, that would be at the top of the list. He does some amazing work.

He sure does. I've never actually held anything he has ever made but I feel like just based on pictures alone that his stuff screams quality. His lines are so clean and sharp looking. His camp master is definitely on top of my list. Right under that is probably something from Mozolic. He also posts some pretty gorgeous looking blades that seem fit for tuxedo carry James Bond style. lol

Claudio Sobral makes some awesome knives. What he does with stag and Damascus is amazing.

Mine, right now, would be the Alan C Warren Loveless style Drop Point Hunters on Knives Ship Free . Com

The work appears to be near flawless, and the price is relatively reasonable. My current favorite of his on that site is:

Looks Nice! I like the smooth micarta. looks like it would be comfortable. Thanks for posting.

I got mine, and have been using it for a month or more now and couldn't be happier - Spartan Blades Harsey Hunter. The blade is ground by Bill Harsey then Spartan puts the handles on. The expertly hollow ground and brilliantly heat treated S35VN blade cuts like a laser while remaining extremely strong all the way to the point. The handle is comfortable in many grips, and the knife rocks at everything from delicate carving to splitting wood to make a fire. Then they include a very high quality sheath from First Spear that looks as good as it performs.

I agree - Mozolic has some amazing blades coming out of his shop.

Also, this dude has some stunning dream blades: Tendick

Custom: many makers on here

I used to collect custom fixed blade hunting knives so now I have a pretty good selection. There were a few makers that I wanted but never got, seems that Dusty Moulton and Neil Blackwood were the 2 that I never got. Now I've moved into EDC folders. If I was flush with cash I would be looking for a large Bowie, not an "art" knife but something that could be used if it came to that. I don't obsess over it because I don't expect to be in a position to even consider buying one.

Now that I'm into EDC folders I buy knives that I can and will carry and use, but I'm at a level there that I don't have any grails. I have some interest in trying a fixed blade for EDC and I've decided that a Bark River Bravo EDC might be the right size, so lets call that my grail. For some reason I think I should have a slightly larger fixed blade but I don't know what I would use it for. There are various Bark River and Busse-type knives that would fit that bill so those could be grails as well.

If "fixed blades" includes swords, then the Sword of Goujain - from about 500 BC.

Scotchleaf, the Sword of Goujin, king of Yue, is my favorite sword of all time! :D
