Pick a:

Blade style.
Steel.
Grind.
Handle Material/frame.
Locking system.
Clip format.
Misc features.
Application.

Here is my dream blade:

Hawkbill.
D2
Hollowgrind, fully serrated.
Titanum frame.
Frame lock.
4 position clip.
Assisted opening with flipper (yeah, I want Kershaw to make it)
I think it would be the ideal self-defense knife.

Lets see-
wharncliffe
A2
Flat, beadblast, plain edge
Titanium
Plunge lock automatic
righty clip, tip up
auto, about 3-3.5 inch blade
edc, the heck of it!

1. $50-$80
2. 3.5-inches or greater
3. Folder
4. Flat-ground
5. VG-10 Steel or better (edge holding)
6. Plain Edge
7. No liner/frame locks
8. Deep as possible carry clip (wire preferred)
9. Has double liners
10. Has a backspacer
11. Bright or sheeple-friendly colors preferred but not required

That comes from my thread here:

I would like:

1. A Benchmade 710 like knife
2. Damascus steel blade (just because I don't own any damascus)
3. No recurve on the blade
4. Titanium liners
5. Carbon Fiber scales
6. Flat ground

And a:

1. Spyderco Military
2. Damascus Steel Blade (again)
3. Axis Lock
4. Carbon Fiber Scales
5. Full titanium liners
6. Tip Up option
7. Flat ground

A Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx in damascus that costs $10. That would be a dream to me.

One that comes to mind would be a modified version of the Bark River Bravo 1.

Same A2 steel, 6" blade and 3/16" thick with green canvas micarta. I know the 7" B2 will be out soon, but these small differences would make it perfect for me.

A VG-10 Spyderco Native Chief would work for me. And I could afford to buy it.

Probably a full Ti zero ground HD Persian from Emerson.

I can think of a few others as well though.

clip point blade
s30v or a blade made of diamond :p
full flat grind at 20% inclusive
G10
framelock
spyderco clip but low riding like sogs
thick blade spine.

flat ground 3 1/4" clip blade W/hole opener, w/thumb perch and finger choil
D2 steel well heat treated
green G10 handles
nested liners
compression lock
BP washers
black pocket clip:)

Blade style: Clip, coping, pen (3.5" traditional whittler pattern) hand-rubbed finish
Steel: INFI
Grind:Flat
Handle Material/frame: Old style/ knurly stag with rat-tail bolsters
Locking system: slipjoint
Clip format: none
Misc features: made by Reese Bose
Application: living in my pocket

A super commander by Warren Thomas in all Ti.... and after making it for me, he gets a wild hair in his ass and just gives it to me :D

Blade style - Forked Double Edge Spear Point
Steel - Damascus
Grind - Hollow Chisel
Handle Material/frame - Ti Liner, Kamagong Scales
Locking system - Butterfly Knife with Spring T-latch
Clip format - Spyderco Round Wire Clip
Misc features - SHINY
Application - Massive Damage

Spyderco'a Bob Lum Chinese Leaf shape. 3-3.5"
I dunno, S30V, 154CM, ZDP189, VG-10, M2, D2.
Full flat
G10 w/ titanium liners, machined pillar spacers. BM710-ish stlye.
Spyderco Ball lock
spyderco wire clip
big smooth pivot
tactical/edc.

Mucho sexy.

Blade style. Warncliffe but somewhat like the Spyderco Rocklobster.
Steel. ZDP-189
Grind. Full flat or whatever
Handle Material/frame. Steel liners and plain black Micarta scales
Locking system. Lock back, Liner, or maybe Axis, though I have no experience with it
Clip format. Personally, tip up, but 4 way of course :D
Misc features. Spydie hole! Good handle to blade ratio like the Stretch. In fact, this knife is largely a Warncliffe Stretch 2 with micarta.
Application. EDC, moderately heavy use, blade good for everything :D.
