Hello fellow traditional lovers. Swayback jack seems to be one of those patterns that most people love. I haven't had much success getting one... yet. I dreamed of getting damascus Swayback jack with ebony handle and silver/stainless bolster. So far I've not seen one so I probably have to make it custom (though I am quite sure Elliott might have something like this in his collection :D), once I get money... if ever.

That was my dream traditional knife. I was wondering what knife or what kind of pattern have you dreamed and not yet have but you will get when you have change or money. They can be custom or production.

Well, you're in luck today, Jani. The swayback jack isn't one of my favorite patterns! Oh, I like it okay (don't get me wrong) and I do have one custom in stag from Mike Zscherny, but I'm not a big fan of knives with a wharncliffe master blade in general.

So, here's your chance to get those bragging rights! ;)

I have always liked the Texas Toothpick, and actually have a big one now. But I've come to like the French cousin even more, the Laguiole. I have a few nice Laguioles, but I really should order the one I want the most: 9 or 10 cm, with corkscrew and spike, maybe stag, maybe blonde horn. Maybe both? :D

The one difference I see between toothpick and Laguiole is the handle thickness: toothpicks tend to be slim, Laguioles will add thick slabs.

Ed, if you like a substantial toothpick, you might enjoy the 4" version from GEC.
It's a stout knife yet is very pocket friendly and only weighs 2 5/8 ounces.
I've been impressed with the one I received this week after a little sharpening and TLC!

I've noticed it, and may get one. I am happy with my Sunfish and Beavertail from GEC.

I think like Esav, I love the toothpicks. I am real partial to the look of Case's variant but S&M seems to make one similar. My dream one would be a tootpick somewhere in between the medium and large size with an S30V blade. Something durable but still low maintenance for me. The handle would have to be a stag or amber bone material. That would be lovely:D

One of my dream knives is a Panama trapper by Tony Bose
Another,is a warncliffe trapper,but with a modified warncliffe,just a touch of an upswept straight edge,at the tip,instead of a dead straight edge,at the tip.
I dream about alotta knives though,so,I could go on & on.

I'd really like one of the new Case pruners with big, fat ebony or ironwood scales. Barehead, naturally, with no shield, and a CPM 154 blade. I'd like the liners to be stainless, and a rat tail, stainless bolster.

I am gaga over the new Case pruner pattern. The more I use it, the more I like it.

My wants are simple. A Buck 301 with 13C26 blades.

And Bone handles.

Mine are simple too.

Some sort of nice, large stockman and a trapper. Stag or maybe jigged bone.

I'd love to have a custom scout pattern. I have yet to even see one.

Mine hasn't changed - it's this one from Todd Davison:

I think the blade on A.G. Russells one hand knives that he calls "General Purpose" are great and then Spyderco has a new one hand assisted opener called the PPT with a great looking blade shape. I can't show it here in "traditionals" though. And, I don't personally own one either. But I am a BIG fan of Wharncliffe blades.

My dream knife would be a Scagel in any form. Knowing that it is just a dream, I would have to say an older Schrade stockman in peachseed.

Mine is an easy open teardrop single blade in carbon fiber. A mix of the old and new. I'm hoping to have one later this fall if things go as planned.

I wish I could have 100 different knives, But that 2 blade Sowbelly that Bret made for Elliot is 1st on my list!! I love that knife!! I'm on Bret's list, I've got about 3 more months to go and hopefully I'll have one!! But another one that could be #1 custom Swayback Jack with stag handles, I want one of those almost as bad!! I love this forum, only place you can tell everybody your dreams and people really want them to come true for you!! Thanks to all for making this a great place to talk and dream about knives!!

Large Gunboat Canoe, Stainless bolsters and liners, BG42 blades, G11 scales, oversized pivot pins,

3 5/8" - 3 3/4" shadow equal end, single spring, spear and pen w/ sunken joints, and either stag or jigged bone. Basically, I'm looking for a fancy version of a Vic. Pioneer Settler even though it won't be nearly as light/slim with the bone scales and liners (hmm, maybe a linerless one with G-10 instead? I may have to ponder this a bit more...;)).
