Your dream traditional knife

It could be a Mountain Man with O1 or 52100 blade and a tight lock-up (let´s say the blade-play that a normal Buck 110 has).
Regards.

A nice hefty harness jack with a sheepfoot or wharncliffe (but not too slim) main blade. I love patterns with a large blade and some sort of awl or a tool like the one on electrician knives. They are great for all the scrapping and prying that the cutting blade shouldn't be used for.

The Northwoods Scagel Fruitloop clip point (smabar & 1095) has made all this rather difficult - as that is probably the one

A boxburl handled large sodbuster in 3mm VG10 would be nice however, as would a slipjoint Mountain Man or Case Bulldog in ebony and the same steel :)

My dream knife, would be something along the lines of the Flexcut Carvin' Jack in 13C26 or AEB-L steel. And slightly smaller. And possibly with fewer tools. What i use most on my Carvin' Jack, is the straight blade, the "spoon" tool, the U-gouge, and the flat chisel.
I think that would be pretty good for what i really tend to use a knife for. Maybe add a thicker more stout straight blade, for rough work, and it'd be perfect. (A steel that never needs sharpening, never breaks and never rusts would be the ultimate ofcourse, but so would light-saber blades. Though, ouch! Cutting your fingers with a light-saber blade.. Naah, i'll stick with ordinary steel.)

(What can i say? I'm a dreamer!)

Mine would be a custom knife made by one of the knife makers who hang around these parts - final details to be worked out with him. I'd want some type of Jack pattern, clip main and wharncliffe or modified wharncliffe secondary. Both nail nicks on the same side, as in the trapper pattern. Around 3 3/8" closed so it would ride in the watch pocket of my jeans, and yet be fairly comfortable in hand. Natural smooth bone handles. Blade steel and shield to be determined in collaboration with the maker. :D

I'm one that finds the Swayback as perhaps the classiest looking knife there is. That said, my dream blade would be a Tony Bose Sunfish/Elephant's Toe. I believe there are only a few and the ones I've seen pictures of were spectacular.

I like cattle and stockman knives in beautiful bone or stag, and my dream knife would be in that general mold by Ken Erickson.

My dream traditional knife was one I just discovered the other day... its not a slippie surprisingly.

However its about 260$ + shipping! I might have to wait a bit on this:

Weeeell, if we're talkin' about THE slipjoint here we go:
She would have to be the Tony Bose trapper pattern, with a clip blade and a wharncliff.
Steel would have to be D2, long nail nicks, stag handles, hourglass shield, just a tad under 4 inches closed.
Now why do I have the strange feeling I'll be ordering one?:D

The stockman pattern is still my overall favorite. Since I have an excellent Ken Erickson stockman already, a Bose premium stockman in either Remington or Tokai Bone would make for nice dreams.

My dream knife would be the one were Elliott said...." Here's some of my favorites friend, just pick yourself one out"

Well, you did say dream knife, and I dream big:p

Sounds like that might turn into a bit of a nightmare for me!

:p

Hey, ya never know... :D

I'd have to go with THE original Scagel folder, as made by William Wales Scagel.

Or as exact duplicate as possible. No cheating or artist interpretation allowed.
