Your experiences with the Benchmade 940/940-2

Good point, I just first noticed this with my Axis lock knives. I dropped my Foray on the ground and it opened right up, which made me get in the habit of putting a knife in a sheath while x-country skiing or biking, in case I crash and it decides to open up even a little bit. I'm not so much worried about it randomly opening, more like if I take a fall or it gets jostled a lot.
The green looks so good to me, I should have gotten that and anodized the spacer or bought an aftermarket one.
How do I clean off the ano on the back spacer?? I don't want to turn it to a different color, I just want to turn it back to the raw titanium color. Thanks

Yeah, of course I'm gonna give it a few weeks to break in before polishing the washers. I do wonder tho: What is the negative affect of polished washers? Thanks for your input!

Polishing effectively removes metal from the surface, which can introduce blade-play, if done aggressively. Secondly, this is a change you cannot undo -- should you want to. Best way to polish the washers is to use it, open-close it. :-)

Have the 940-2. It’s not a free swinging drop shut but the very slightest flick will send it home. It has aide to side blade play that I can feel when I wiggle it but I don’t visually see it.
Lube and polishing the washers on a very fine stone will be your best bet for a more free smooth action. I even lube my pivot pin as well which helps exponentially.
Hurry up and go buy yours!!!

I have a 940-1501 that has a small amount of side to side blade play especially if you want it to be able to fall shut. It doesn’t really bother me, and the only time I notice it is when I’m checking for it.

I've owned a half dozen variants and they've all been pretty great, but I like the way the G-10 handles feel best. This is my favorite version, the going gear dealer exclusive black G-10 with red C-Tek inserts:
