Your favorite 3.5 inch or larger, larger folder under 75.00??

Another vote for the Endura...

I know the OP wanted plain-edge options, but I really like my SE...

I'm liking the look of the full spyder edge the more I see it. I see it's potential for cutting flesh, seat belt and other heavy fabrics but how do they fare on things like wood, cardboard, paper and the like? I can picture a full serrated Military. Wicked but not as mall ninja IMHO as a Civilian.

Endura is a nice knife and all but fails if the OP is looking for the 'uber' sturdy.

Get your hands on a Kershaw Lahar. G10 , SS liners , fat VG10 flipper blade. Very underrated and an absolute tank. Can be had for about 75.00. One of the sturdiest 'big' knives I can think of in that price range is a lined Cold Steel American Lawman , a brick of a knife with a top notch lock , in your price range too.

really can't beat an Enlan EL-01 - they cost about $15 with shipping. Don't let the price fool you. Read the reviews. Its a flipper and built like a tank.

I was wondering if there is a difference between Enlan, Navy, and Sanremu in terms of relative quality. Any thoughts?

Enlan and SRM are the top. The Navy is less consistent in QC. However, all three will be great in general!

I suggest you check out the SRM thread in the review subforum.

@Noumenon
Where are them Boker+ made? They look sweet.

Boker Plus line is made in the PRC. They use a lot of what they call 440C - and some 12C27. The examples I have - and many more that I have fondled at the pusher's - have great fit & finish. Sharpness is spotty. Decent value.

The Resurrection Gen 2 I have is made in Taiwan and it's quality is on par with many of the Kershaws and Spyderco I own. I don't know anything about the 440C it is made with yet since I have only just started using it and I haven't sharpened it yet. It came very very sharp and I really dig this knife. The only thing I wish is that it was a flipper because I like having the reassurance of the flipper above my fingers. The jimping on the back of the blade gives decent traction for your thumb.

Cold steel AK-47. It's a big knife with a funny looking handle but it's very comfortable to use. The large handle lets you put a lot of power behind that smaller blade for hard use without any hot spots. My Recon 1 should be here today.

Sharp and fine enough to push cut paper, fella, and cardboard is a breeze. The full SE makes the Endura a pocket chainsaw. If you're at all interested, you ought to pick one up!

M21-04 recurve spear point blade AUS8 ,aluminum handle - polished pivot area and removed tension o-ring at pivit screw and just use med lock-tite. I can now beat on this thing without blade comming loose. My EDC and camping knife for the last 2 years and still looks great!

I carried my Enlan EL01 for about 3 weeks and I like it a lot. It has a nice almost 4 inch long blade with a flipper and a rock solid lockup, yet smooth opening action. What else do you need? All that for a price of about 25 dollars! Just awesome.

Hey, look at that! Thanks bladechick

While I don't own one the newer generation Cold Steel XL Voyager with it's triad lock had really left quite an impression on me. Right from the gitgo it struck me as a folder stout enough to handle nearly fixed blade level abuse. With all of that being said the price tag left me pleasantly surprised as well.

Any of the boker minis, and the mini balisongs although almost all of them are worth more then the price criteria.

The jealous brothers: EL01, Navy k631 and EL02 looking down at Sanrenmu 763 getting the task done. Among the big guys, the most sturdy is of course EL01. The best slicer is the Navy.
