Your Favorite Apple Cutting Knife

An AL-MAR Falcon does the business for me.
The blade is long and thin enough to slice any fruit, perfect!

Usually just eat them whole, but if I do cut them, I cut them in wedges. Kitchen knives work well for that (5" Santoku or 4" paring are my usual go-to's). If you're looking for something to carry to the office, a larger Opinel would probably work just as well. The No. 10 has a 4" blade, and the No. 9 measures 3.5".

A Swayback is hard to beat for peeling. As for as slicing, any will do, but a thin blade works the best.

I use my Case desk knife if at home. I usually keep a swayback jack(or gent) in my left pocket, and use one anytime I'm pulling the edge toward myself(peeling, whittling, etc...).

Hmm. i'll have to give the SBJ another go at peeling. I went back to back peeling with the Opinel then the SBJ, and I favored the Opinel. I have since thinned the edge a bit on the SBJ, though, and I don't quite remember why I favored the Opinel.... But for any wood work, SBJ all the way.

I have an Opinel paring knife that is is great for slicing. It can get crazy-sharp with very little work. It is the only non custom kitchen knife I still use these days. Other than that my well used Case swayback jack works great.

I use my ffg bd30p manix 2. But mainly because that's what I usually have in my pocket and it works a hell of alot better than anything in my kitchen.
