Your favorite bushcraft knife with 3 to 5 in. blade?

I've worked with the 2000, 711, 840 Clippers and my current favorite the 511.

The 511 is the least expensive but still works. Great carbon steel, easy to sharpen.

I square off the spine so it throws better sparks with a firesteel, add a lanyard hole and usually cold blue the blade.

The carbon clipper benefits from similar treatments.

This is my fav. Made by Stomper. CR mountaineer 1 would be a close second.

Since he probably won't blow his own horn I will. :) Those are Brian's own brand....Off the Map knives. A few others have posted some of his work in this thread as well.

Thanks for referring me, I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering a bushcrafter possibly with box elder burl(damn that stuff is hot) I've got my bushwacker arriving next month also Gonna be a fun month!

really nice knives...

Since I only have two knives right now... I'll go with the ESEE RC3... very nice and compact knife to carry with you at all times... :D

Favorite is this one from BCNW for utility and when wood carving is likely. Feels good and strong without hot spots, cuts well, easy to keep sharp or touch up, pretty heavy blade.

Like the Kephart style too for general use and not much wood working...

 Wow! What is that? It looks like a heavily modified Busse SAR5.

As they used to say at carnival's "give the man a kewpie doll", he knows his Busse's! Elbow grease and some bone makes it a little different

Current / Was = SRKT Howling Rat (original, Gen 1)
Likely new favorite = Koster 3V Bushmaster (we'll see after this season of use)

I've got some very nice knives in this range and some of them are spread out among different kits but this one I find myself strapping on when I'm heading out. I traded a neck knife I made for it. Not an expensive knife but man is it a user.

I've got two and I can't decide which one is my favourite. Both are great.

Brian Andrews Bushcrafter:

Martin Knives "BT" (Bushcrafter Tactical)

The BT tends to scare people when I pull it out at a campsite, but it's a very robust knife and durable as hell. The Brian Andrews Bushcrafter is a little less intimidating but still a highly capable knife. Both are great and like I said, I can't decide which is my favourite.

that Martin is growing on me might have to snag one :D

How about the Chris Reeve knives, i.e., Mountaineer 1 or Shadow 3. Anyone have any input about these knives. I have a company shipping the Mountaineer 1 to me once its made, one of the last to be produced.
