Since I finally figured out how to do it, the spydie-flick, followed closely by rear flipper.

Definitely my least favorite. I have a few of them, but only one I can open in one motion. But even the one is still not very comfortable to operate as a front flipper, so I use the thumb hole. Unfortunately one of my favorite lookers, a WE black void opus, is rather awkward to open. If that knife were a rear flipper, it might have been my perfect EDC.

Not ashamed to say Axis Lock .
Requires no real effort .
Does not require me to hold my tongue just right like some flippers ; god you should have tried to use my Spyderco Mantra Titanium before I polished the side of the M4 blade where the ball ran . It was so rough it was FILING DOWN the side of the ball . Balls don't have sides , you might say . Well this one did . AND it took a bunch of wrist ! Who needs THAT ?
The Axis allows that the blade can be long and narrow like the 940 .
I can operate it all day even fidget a little and it doesn't fatigued my hand . The other day my thumb was getting a "hot spot" at the front just under the nail ; seemed to be from using hole openers .
How often do you hear "opens fine ((with a bit of wrist))" .
Won't hear that with an Axis Lock. More like : "opens fast without thinking about it" .
Never broke a spring . . . . been using them for about fifteen years now . Springs super easy to come by ; I have several spares .

PS : Been carrying and using heavily at work my THREE , count 'em THREE Cobalt Blue G-10 Para 3s for the last few weeks.
I modded all of them . To start I cut off almost all of the opening hole ((this is the fastest way to get down to a 2 millimeter blade thickness )). I left just enough "hole" near the pivot to where I can easily slow roll the blades open ; YES BLUES that''s my usual as well . BUT there is still enough hook shape to be a wave opener if I concentrate on hooking my pocket . Tricky balance (how much material to cut off the blade) but I have found it .
One knife has SPY 27 (shortened blade to Wharncliffe )
Second knife has a Cruwear blade swapped in ; polished factory sharpening angles .
Third knife has a Magnacut blade swapped in , because I wanted to use that stuff hard and experience sharpening it / see what kind of edge it can keep . Last night I reprofiled it to 14 degrees per side polished bevels . Probably a micro bevel there in my future but so far so good .
The MagnaCut dude was push cutting double wall cardboard today with ease . . . side by side I was using my Para 2 S110V reprofiled and convexed for the same task . Para 2 was taking A LOT MORE FORCE to complish the same and was MUCH more comfortable if used in a sawing motion .
Yes this mod on my Para 3s is worth it BIG TIME !
Anyway there's another opening system for ya : not a hole , not a wave , not a tab . . . better ! Does all three .
