Your favorite Emerson?

The primary grind is V-grind, but the edge is a chisel grind. I have seen this many times on other knives, so I don't see why some folks continuously harp on this with Emersons.

If you don't like it (or just can't seem to understand!), just get something else....

On an Emerson a "Conventional V grind" is a chisel grind but a "double" V grind is the conventional V grind. Confusing.

no a conventional "v" grind (like on say a spyderco PE delica) is not a chisel grind, nor is a double "V" grind a conventional "V" grind lol.

i admit, EKI's grinds can get confusing sometimes, FWIW the closest thing to a conventional "V" grind (like the delica, remember??) would be a CQC12, but its not a conventional "V" grind though ya could reprofile it to a conventional "V" grind fairly easily, same with the '13.

why does EKI do it this way?? obviously ernie believes that his grinds offer advantages in ease of sharpening and edge retention and work better than conventional grinds in the SD department.

it can be confusing though, if i had a dollar for everyone who bought a commander expecting a conventional "V" grind and were disappointed i could buy a commander lol.

nothing wrong with the EKI grinds though, a little different to sharpen is all,
