Your Favorite Kershaw

I was monogamous with my ID-1 for about 2 years. It is as fast as an AO, terrific blade shape for most EDC tasks and is nice and thin and easy to fit in the pocket. Yes, they are discontinued, but they can be found.

I like the skyline, but I'd like it even better if it was assisted.

It really depends on what kind of knife you want. Kershaw prices are all over the board, and all are excellent. Do you want something really beefy with a wide blade, or do you want something sleek and thin in your pocket. For light/mid duty daily tasks I'd say a Leek (g10 with s30v) or a Scallion. Both are great.

..mini-skinner...haha..seriously though, love that knife, one of my edc's!
Blade material: Stonewashed Sandvik 14C28N
Handle material: black textured G10 overlays

nice and thick too, I've even batoned with it to split small kindling the proceeded to amputate part of my thumb off ten minutes later without even feeling it, talk about staying sharp! that thing bled for a week till they plugged the hole..needless to say i bought another after that experience and have been a fan of kershaw ever since!

Kershaw Leek
Kershaw Shallot
Kershaw Groove
Kershaw Crown
Kershaw Blur

Zero Tolerance 0301
Zero Tolerance 0560
Zero Tolerance 0550

if you wanna cut Fruit consider a DLC Coated knife to prevent rusting like on the bead blasted blades... I'd Say a Green Spider Blur or a DLC Shallot

The Leek has been my favorite Kershaw to EDC. It's very compact and is pretty much unnoticeable in pocket. The Skyline is also a fantastic EDC blade. It's a bit larger and more robust than the Leek, but it's still slim and tucks away comfortably in pocket. The Blur is also a great knife, although bordering on the larger side of what I like to EDC. The OD-1 mentioned by others is a nice design too, although it's been discontinued. You can still find them on the secondary market though.

Top to bottom: Blur, Skyline, OD-1, Leek

Even though I consider it borderline "too small", I just love my Cryo. I carry a Spyderco Resilience as my primary edc, but the little Cryo rides nicely in my back pocket as a secondary/loaner blade. I am impatiently waiting for the Cryo II to release.

Yet another vote for the Skyline. Great design, though I'm biased towards non-assisted flippers--I find Speedsafe-type mechanisms more annoying than useful.

Well, the only Kershaw's I've owned were the Skyline and Cryo both of which were too small for me. I bought them as gifts though so it didn't really matter. I EDC an 0550 and love it and have a Blur blem on it's way to try out.

I have almost everything listed so far but a RAM always seems to end up in my pocket far more often than any of the others. I just love the way it opens and it's very easy to close one handed.

I've tried a few Kershaws but I haven't found any I like better than the manual US-made Zing by RJ Martin...

My favorite Kershaw to EDC would be the OD-1. Yes, the bead blasted finish on the blade might get a patina if used to cut fruit but that can be polished off easily. Trust me, been there. The point, while not as robust as the Blur, is still more substantiial than the Leek. The Skyline, like the steel handled Leek, is too thin for me. I do like the G10 Leek in S30V. Try out the OD-1 before they are all gone. I need to pick up one for my dad before its too late

I should mention I want to pick up a Blur and a Zing (USA model) soon. Checkout Kershawguy.com for some great prices on blems, you cant go wrong
