This year has seen some awesome blades added to my collection.

I've been lucky to get knives made in Australia, US of America, China, Brazil, Spain, Nepal and Indonesia.

It was from the latter country, from the island of Ache, that I purchased my favourite knife for 2008, a Belati Pamor hand forged by Empu Ishak Abdullah, thru Marranggi Knives for $44US. ::D

So what is your favourite knife purchased in 2008?

No pics but my Father's mid 80's Case small Gunstock w SS blades and walnut handles. Slippies are so comfortable.

My Favorite knife in 2008 is my Case Stockman and my Stag Sodbuster. Not to mention the Benchmark S.O.S I came across. I had one in my 20's and it was and still is a great knife. Oh Yeah My Stag 110 w/BG-42. Thats it, I think... Happy New Year All!!! ~kevin~

I expected it to be a very nice compact Belgian custom I bought a few months ago but that's now number two.
The winner of the year is a nice Fontenille-Pataud backlock gentlemen knife with horn tip handle. It's really an ideal knife for me:

My favorite fixed blade of 2008 is my Bill Buxton Damascus hunter.
My favorite folder of 2008? That is tough!! I dunno if I CAN choose just one.

Some beautiful knives so far in this thread.

I have 4 favorites from 2008.

Was very fortunate at the Blade show to be drawn on this one by Tony Bose.

This one is also from Blade 2008 (Amherst Cutlery):

This one was made by Ken Erikson:

And this one from Knifehead (Kerry Hampton):

I have carried and used all but the Bose, since it is promised for another Bose knife in trade in the near future.

Bloody flash knife for $44 :)

What did you get from Oz?

2008 saw my collecting / accumulating step up a notch.

Infact 90% of my knives were bought in 2008, I went through a steep learning curve which saw be buy knives I knew very little about (Stainless Steel Case Canoe) through to my holy grail at the time, A small classic Sebenza.

So for me, it would be the Sebenza, who knows what next year holds.

If I had to pick just one it would probably be my current favorite:
