I was wondering what's everyone's favorite knife you acquired in 2012. For me it's a tie
between the spyderco southard and the benchmade 950 rift with carbon fiber & cpm-m4.
They are both so perfect.

Oh gosh. I have to pick one? Lol.
My Sebenza is a hands down favorite.
But for cheaper than the Sebenza, my Spyderco Techno would be the runner up.

My Benchmade 810BK Contego. I've put it through hell and it always comes out laughing and asking for more. Zip ties, thick rubber, tons of cardboard, wood, food prep, and denim. Not to mention whatever i'm forgetting.

Big Chris CPM 3V Barong and Harlen Shaw Pepto 52100 knife.
Both are very affordable yet super tough. I couldn't be happier.

This 20+ year old Hen & Rooster Congress Jack pattern with real MOP scales. German made and a very hard to find pattern.

Favorite folder of 2012: Southern Grind Bad Monkey. After this one I only buy folders because I like them, not because I need them.
Favorite fixed blade of 2012: TRC Knives TR12-S. it's everything I want and need in a fixed blade edc and it looks spectacular.

There are plenty of other knives that I bought in 2012 that I love, but these 2 take the cake. If I had to pick 2 knives to keep out of my collection it would likely be these 2.

Modern: small Seb w/ lignum
Trad: bf trapper
Fixed: blind horse patch knife

Favorite 2:

Bladeforums 2012 Traditional Trapper
Case/Bose Lanny's Clip in Chestnut Bone

Close 3rd: Spyderco Vallotton Sub-hilt (re-aquired a new one after trading my old one away)

Anything that nutnfancy endorses... JK
Seriously though my Izula, got my first one this past year, I have no idea what took me so long...

Tough call, my three favorites knife purchases from this past year were the original A.G. Russell Acies, the ZT 0560 the Strider SMF with CPM-154.

I second the BFC Traditional Forum Trapper;

I'm also really enjoying the heck out of this guy;

That's hard to choose...

My favorite knife of 2012 is still my all-time favorite; my Small Sebenza... but that wasn't what you asked :)

My most carried knife of 2012 was my SAK Cadet; I have one on me all the time... but that also wasn't what you asked :)

My most used knife of 2012 was probably also my SAK Cadet... but again, not what you asked :D

In terms of new knives, it's between the Spyderco Brad Southard Flipper, the Spyderco Gayle Bradley Air, the ESEE Laser Strike, all of which are very different knives. I don't think I can choose either, since I use all three for very different purposes and situations. The Southard Flipper is the most fun to play with and flip around. The Air pretty much permanently lives in my suit jacket. The ESEE LS is my camp/hiking/yardwork knife, and hasn't seen any use other than that.

I guess I could give up the ESEE LS and go back to my previous camp knife, and I could live without the GB Air, since I have a SAK Cadet on me all the time, so I guess the Southard Flipper wins by default! :p
