Tough one. I really like my Dozier K-42 in CPM 154 as an EDC and user. It has to be my favorite. Love a couple others that I acquired this past year including the Condor Pack Golok and I love the design of the 2012 GEC BF traditional knife. For outdoor carry, my Blackjack 125 has become my choice for woods use where as before I carried a SOG Seal Pup Elite for general use. That SOG took a lot of hard use. Like the BK-2 a lot also and I suspect if I parked the Blackjack 125, it would be my woods carry blade. It's hard to choose really. 2012 was a good year for careful buying.
I cannot point just one. There are four of my favorite 2012 knives. They are very different: gents, heavy duty or special tool, but I love them.
here in order I received.
1. Spyderco Damascus Caly3
2. ZT 561
3. Spyderco CF Dodo
4. The last, but not the least. The gift from my dear friend: Ti Fluted Native5.
Benchmade 581 Barrage edged out the Spyderco Sage 4 by year end. Both great, and I probably want to love the Sage more cause it's so great looking, but that Barrage is incredible. Nothing flashy - it just works and is comfortable.
The Benchmade 300SN may give them both a run for their money, but technically I got that in 2013.....
Funnily it's a three way toss up for me between these:
Paul Happy J.S. exam hunter:
Tim Britton goldlip Pearl medium avatar:
A.G. Russell K12 one hand knife (sentimental reasons, it was a gift from A.G. himself, and besides that I just LOVE the lightness and locking mechanism of the thing)
