I have been wanting to get a 940 osborne for a while. I have heard several people say it has some blade play? Any comment on that?My custom friction folder is still 'top dog'...

Oh man, Now I will have to. That has been on my list of wants for awhile. I just wish I could find a red handled one.No problem with bladeplay on either my Benchmade 940 or 943. You should get one.

Thats ok with me. I just dont like wiggle at the base of the blade near the handle. I kinda always thought that the wiggle near the tip was more blade flexing anyway.I have 2 BM 940 Osbornes. As with 99% of axis lock knives mde by BM, there's a sweet spot in the pivot screw that allows for free movement while allowing for no blade play. Guys use teflon plumber's tape or blue lock-tite to dial the pivot in to that sweet spot.
In the end I've always allowed for a miniscule amt. of blade play - just nothing excessive. If I hold the tips on my axis lock knives and give the tip of he handle a stiff side to side wiggle, I always feel just a little movement but nothing much.![]()

I really like these. They get carried most often.
